Confidence is HIGH that this event will occur, and we are expecting MODERATE impacts.
Period of greatest impact: Tonight through Friday.
o Severe Weather: Potential for damaging wind gusts, and a possible isolated tornado
across Eastern NC. Highest threat period will be late this afternoon through tonight.
o Coastal Flooding: Minor sound side coastal flooding possible along the Outer Banks
Tonight into Friday Night. Minor inundation up to 2 ft. (AGL) possible.
o Non-Thunderstorm Winds: Strong winds ahead of a cold front will develop tonight and
continue behind the cold front Friday. Strongest winds will be along the coast,
where scattered power outages are possible. Isolated outages inland.
