To Share Ideas
Parents Had Opportunities
Youth met for activities
With Beth and Pam
Sometimes
It was hard work!
Youth talked about goals for the future…
They made terrific treasure maps
Parents had to guess which treasure map…
belonged to whom…
Treasure Maps shared their dreams and goals for the future
Families talked about strengths of family
members
Families made Family Trees
Everyone got creative!
Everyone had strengths!
We made great family trees!
Youth learned about signs of stress
We played some silly games!
And had some fun!
We worked as a team!
Families learned about family meetings
Talked about privileges youth could earn
And played some games
And found that following rules makes things go more smoothly
Youth played a driving game
to work as a team
Youth learned
Is it square yet?
Families talked about their family values
Matched their values to action
And
made
family
shields
We learned that family values shield us and keep our family strong in hard times
Youth watched a video and learned some steps for handling peer pressure
We played some active games
With tough competition!
Families made their way to Timbuktu
By various modes of transportation…
Families played a game to see who were better listeners
And practiced joint problem solving
Youth practiced what to say when they are pressured by friends
Youth “fished” for qualities make that a good friend
Some were “keepers” others were cat food!
Adults & Youth
work together
in order to
reach their goals
Teams had to S T R E T C H
& support each other
Sometimes we need outside help to reach our goals
Parents shared…
Their thoughts about drug and alcohol use
And their dreams for their youth’s future
were silly!
Some Activities
Love and Limits
Families Learned
We learned more about each other
And strengthened family ties
We made new friends
Thanks for sharing your families with us!
