Welcome to NAHQ NEXT 2021! We appreciate your participation this year despite pressing demands on your time. We know you continue to face extraordinary challenges as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to test your dedication, your resourcefulness and your passion on the front lines of healthcare quality, safety, equity and value. We salute you for everything you do as we face this persistent global health crisis together.

We are stronger when we come together, something that is especially true during these trying times. We’d like to thank those who have shared their knowledge and experiences through our sessions, all of which fall into programming blocks tied to the domains of the NAHQ Healthcare Quality Competency Framework TM.

We are also grateful to the many visionary healthcare leaders joining us to deliver hard-hitting, assumption-challenging messages on the state of healthcare and its future. We’re humbled to have the opportunity to learn from their insights, many of which highlight innovative healthcare quality responses during the pandemic. And please join us on Monday afternoon for a Fireside Chat with the entire NAHQ Board of Directors as we share “Stories from the Healthcare Quality Trenches.”

With such vast and outstanding content, we want to remind you that you can continue to access all on-demand sessions and live session recordings through December 31, 2021.

Along with access to valuable content, NAHQ NEXT gives you the chance to broaden your professional network. We have increased the level of virtual networking and personalization this year. Leveraging your customizable personal profile, you can engage and connect through multiple mediums with other registrants, including speakers.

A live interactive online chat feature will allow you to share insights and engage with other attendees and NAHQ staff in real time throughout the conference. Just for fun, be sure to join your colleagues and friends for our “Dueling Pianos Lunch Break” on Monday at 12:30 pm CT; the Peloton ride on Tuesday at 6 am CT and “It’s Yoga Time!” virtual yoga class on Tuesday at 4:45 pm CT.

It has been another year of relentless challenges and abundant new opportunities for delivering ever higher levels of quality and value. We hope our 2 ½ day meeting of healthcare quality peers fosters a renewed spirit of learning, cooperation and hope for the year ahead.

Stay well, stay strong and stay positive!

Sincerely,

HEALTHCARE QUALITY COMPETENCY FRAMEWORKTM

In 2019, NAHQ published the first comprehensive framework of foundational, proficient and advanced competencies for the healthcare quality profession. NAHQ’s Healthcare Quality Competency Framework sets specific job requirements and capabilities across eight domains, 29 competencies and 486 skill statements.

Collectively, the NAHQ Competency Framework describes the knowledge and skills required for developing and leading a successful healthcare quality program.

All healthcare quality professionals should meet at least the foundational level of capability in all eight domains, but it is unlikely and unnecessary that they will possess all competencies at an advanced level. Instead, the spectrum should be represented across each organization’s quality workforce.

Learn more about NAHQ’s industry-standard Healthcare Quality Competency Framework at NAHQ.org/Competencies.
