Wow, what a year!
David M. BeckerPresident & CEO
Everyone has probably heard this countless times already— 2020 was a year like no other. The largest pandemic in 100 years swept across the globe, reshaping life as we knew it. As we look back at last year, the word resilience is what comes to mind. No one could have anticipated how resilient we would need to be. The pandemic turned our lives upside down and tested us in so many ways. All of us had to adapt to the new
normal of wearing masks, working from home, taking care of loved ones, and for some losing their jobs, and even loved ones. The pandemic impacted our cancer community in so many ways. The image that we continue to think about is being diagnosed with cancer and not being able to have your family and friends by your side. That will forever be etched in our minds.
Angel Foundation showed our resilience and determination to help those in need by how we approached difficult situations realistically. We focused on tangible ways of tackling each challenge and moving forward. We knew it would be necessary to respond quickly to patients dealing with a cancer diagnosis compounded by the pandemic, so we created a special fund called Angel In Action to help lessen the financial impact for them and their families. We established new goals and took swift action to achieve them, knowing none of those goals would be accomplished without tremendous support from all of you- the individuals, companies, foundations, and organizations who ensured we could continue to deliver critical programs and services each and every day. To say thank you does not seem adequate, but we could not be more grateful.
The greatest essential aspect of building our resilience was our commitment to remain optimistic. It was sometimes tough to be positive when we faced so much uncertainty. And we can take comfort in the knowledge that it was resilience that carried us through. We remained hopeful and optimistic about a brighter future. As we look to the dawn of a new year, one in which we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, there’s no telling what 2021 will bring. It will take continued commitment, care, and hard work, but our hope is that Angel will continue to grow and flourish in the next 20 years.
With Gratitude,
DAVID M. BECKER CINDY CHANDLER President & CEO Chair of the Board

6 ANGEL FOUNDATION
Ames Construction has been a long-time community partner of Angel Foundation. Since 2010 the Ames for Angel Golf Tournament, held at Somerby Golf Club, has raised support on behalf of Angel's Emergency Financial
Assistance program. The 2020 event was cancelled due to CoVid19, but that didn't prevent the team at Ames from inviting their loyal sponsors and corporate partners to continue to support the event, knowing that for local cancer patients and their families, the pandemic caused even greater financial strain. This act of generosity helped us maintain our resilience and carried us through an incredibly uncertain year.
"It's an honor to support Angel Foundation and all the hard work staff and volunteers do to help
families deal with the pressures of cancer. Acorn Foundation doesn’t view cancer as a death sentence,
but more of a life sentence, because it pushes one to live life to the fullest. Angel Foundation offers hope and a safe space to talk about all of the challenges."
Acorn Foundation
IndividualsAngel Foundation could not exist without the support of these philanthropic leaders who have devoted time, talent, and funds to impact thousands of families and individuals in our cancer community.

"At the age of 16, Brian lost his mother to breast cancer. The only child living at home with a distraught father and no outside resources available for support left him to cope with his grief, helplessness, and devastation alone. Brian's experience dealing with his mother's cancer is a large part of what makes us passionate donors to this incredible organization.
By providing vital emotional and financial support, Angel Foundation has made it their mission that no one should have to face this disease alone by compassionately walking patients and their families through their cancer journey with knowledge, dignity, and pride. We wholeheartedly believe in and support the invaluable work the foundation does every day for cancer patients and their families."

Angels in Action The global pandemic left our nation and our community shaken and uncertain. For local cancer patients and their families, this extraordinary situation caused even greater financial strain, and led to a dramatic increase in the number of requests for assistance. To meet this unprecedented need, Angel Foundation created a special fund called Angel In Action to help lessen the financial impact for patients and their families.

152020 ANNUAL REPORT
Looking Ahead2020 is a year that will never be forgotten. The tragedy of the CoVid19 crisis touched everyone in some way and the sorrow caused by many great losses will never fully heal. It would have been easy to believe the endless negative headlines about the pandemic, economy, politics, and many other issues, but it was the strength and generosity of the hundreds of individuals, companies, foundations, and organizations listed in this publication that carried us through the year. Despite the tremendous challenges we faced in 2020, Angel Foundation focused on the silver linings, and we saw community collaboration, adaptation, innovation, and resilience like never before. We celebrate our 20th Anniversary in 2021 and I look ahead with great optimism. I hope you will join me in making it our best year ever. — Dave Becker
Through an innovative and integrated approach of financial assistance, education and support, Angel Foundation helps adults with cancer and their families so that they may live life well with stability, strength and resilience.
