Peterborough Summer 2014 Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved.” The last few months at Street Hope Peterborough have been filled with wonderful opportuni- ties to walk alongside people in various ways and share the love of Jesus in ways that have both practical and spiritual significance for their lives. We have seen some great spiritual victories in people’s lives as they have surrendered to Jesus and desired to walk with Him in their lives. I have been deeply inspired and encouraged by the heart and passion of our volunteers who continue to support this ministry with their time, talents, wisdom and especially the hope they bring into the lives of people we are serving. Their dedication and service is absolutely essential to the op- eration of this ministry! Some of our volunteers are involved in our newly formed Street Hope Ministry Support Team. Some of our volunteers are involved in helping us by picking up and delivering furniture to people through our Mercy Centre. We also have volunteers who are dedicated to helping with our movie and meal outreaches and our outdoor park barbecues that will be taking place during the summer months complete with preaching and live music. Street Hope is also blessed with your wonderful commitment to pray for and financially support this front-line ministry! Your partnership to stand with this work is such a tremendous blessing to my wife and me! Without your great partnership we would not be able to reach out in the ways we do to share the Gospel of Christ with broken hurting people. I find great encouragement and hope in Philippians 3:14 where Paul proclaims, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heaven- ward in Christ Jesus.” Together united in Jesus in the power of The Holy Spirit we will achieve the goal of winning people to Christ and seeing precious lives set free by Jesus! I would like to share a testimony of a young man I have had the privilege of supporting and befriending since 2010. David and his girlfriend Jen have recently come into a deeper relationship with Jesus and it is very exciting to see a new spiritual vibrancy in their lives as they continue to develop their faith in Christ. I know you will be blessed as you read Dave’s testimony and I pray that you will be inspired in your own faith in Jesus through it! “Before I came to the Lord I was in a mess! I had spent ten months in jail and had no direction in life. Before my experience with incarceration, I had, at a point in time, spent two months on the streets homeless and fighting just to survive. Where would I find water? Where would I find food? All I had was just emptiness and a large void I could not fill. I had an addiction to pornography following jail, and no other comforts except junk food and lustful thinking. My father and I did not talk for the longest time. I smoked cigarettes regularly, I walked the streets hoping someone would take notice of me. I found myself waking up in the morning regretting the fact that I had in fact wo- ken up at all. I hated everything around me. I wanted to die, to be quite truthful. I had made friends with a man, who was himself quite troubled. I tried to help him but ultimately he turned on me and I came to a realization that I had placed my trust in the wrong place entirely. My friends disappeared one by one and all had expectations that I could not fulfill. I felt like I could accomplish nothing and be nothing. Then everything changed and my world was turned upside down. The Lord shined down on me, I couldn’t believe it at first. It just felt like I had been awakened for the first time, that my eyes were finally open. It hit home how much I needed Jesus, how lost I had always been without put- ting my faith and trust in Him. I surrendered my life to Je- sus; I prayed for forgiveness, I had done Him wrong. But then I felt His forgiveness come over me, His favour and blessing poured out on me and I had a peace now that I had never known before, such was it that I could now han- dle anything with Him in my life. His presence was now so For more info visit: www.streethope.ca From The Streets To Salvation Reflections from Darrin Gaudreau

obvious to me that I knew that He was Lord. Recently, my father whom I’d been out of contact with for several years talked to me. I knew right then that God had performed a mas-sive miracle in my life and without my Dad even knowing it. I am so thankful to the Lord for send-ing Darrin into my life and constantly praying and bringing me to the Lord. I’m also so thankful that Jen is in my life. She’s been a blessing to me in many ways and I would be hard pressed to list how many. The Lord has given me a guitar which I’d always wanted, shoes when I needed them the most and a loving church that has an awesome pastor. I’m so thankful to the Lord for everything He has done, and everything He is going to do. I know where I’m heading now, and I know I have a purpose in life now that I’d nev-er had before, a reason to exist and a reason to live! Thank you Jesus for my life and all you are doing in it, and thank you for giving me pur-pose.” -David

The greatest comebackthe world has ever seenwas made by Jesus Christ, our Lord, the Nazarene. After being insulted, whipped, beaten, and nailed to a cross to dieHis executioners declared Him deadas mourners stood nearby.Three days laterhe rose from the grave, the Victor over sin and death,so that I could be saved. He made the greatest comebacklike no other in all of history, for no one has overcome like Him,and no one ever will I guarantee. He will give me the victory, because through his help I will overcome, and I will keep on trying to succeed, yet to failure I will never ever succumb.
