Strategic Active Transportation Plan and TheTrails Feasibility Study, Agenda Item 2.8 and 2.9 City Council Meeting 6/22/21 Good afternoon Commissioners. My name is Susan Sayre and I am a long time Irvine resident. I totally support the Strategic Active Transportation Plan and the City’s Trails Feasibility Study and the presented plans to increase the number of bicycle/pedestrian trails and link them to the regional bike trails. I promote inspiring people to bike and walk to employment locations, community parks, local schools and community shopping centers and promote recreational biking and walking to the Great Park and to, and along, regional bicycle trails. Promoting Public Safety: I think that more needs to be done to promote public safety. Promoting tourism: I think we could take this opportunity to promote tourism. We have a growing number of hotels in Irvine and the Great Park is developing an increased number of venues which should attract tourism. I have some requests and suggestions: 1. Bicycle and pedestrian trails on regional connection routes AND village community routes should be made separate from traffic lanes or have barriers between the trails and street traffic lanes. 2. We need to improve directional “way finding” signage along the trails. 3. Develop a Google and Apple GIS interactive map system similar to that that was presented for the Great Park. 4. Provide bike rental stations for people who do have bicycles. Thank you,

Strategic Active Transportation Plan and TheTrails Feasibility Study, Agenda Item 2.8 and 2.9

City Council Meeting 6/22/21 Good afternoon Commissioners. I have some requests and suggestions:

1. Bicycle and pedestrian trails on regional connection routes AND village community routes should be made separate from traffic lanes or have barriers between the trails and street traffic lanes.

2. We need to improve directional “way finding” signage along the trails. 3. Develop a Google and Apple GIS interactive map system similar to that that

was presented for the Great Park. 4. Provide bike rental stations for people who do have bicycles.

Thank you,
