STP-SCI provides these innovative cost effective features and benefits:

FEATURE DRY RUN PROTECTION WITHAUTOMATIC RESET:

Detects dry run condition in empty tank and automaticallyshuts pump off. Condition is indicated by an audible and visualalarm. The condition automatically resets if tank is refilled.

BENEFITSignificantly extends motor life by eliminating this frequentcause of premature motor failure.

FEATURE EASY RETROFIT:The SCI is compatible with single phase STP’s 1/3 through2HP; FE Petro or competitive makes.

BENEFITRetrofitting existing stations is as simple as replacing theexisting control box with the STP-SCI and pressing the resetbutton to allow the controller to automatically “learn” theelectrical characteristics of the pump.

FEATURE EXTENDED PUMP RUN DETECTION:Automatically shuts pump off after 60 minutes of runningwith no pumping activity.

BENEFIT• Since all mechanical and most electronic line leak

detection systems require that the submersible pump beshut off to perform a line leak test, this feature ensuresthe pump will shut off to enable the leak detection devicethe opportunity to test for line leaks.

• Indicates fault in dispenser on/off control signal tosubmersible.

• Extends motor life by protecting the motor fromcontinuous running conditions that cause needless wearon motor bearings.

• Can be disabled for back-up generator systems that runSTP for more than one hour during testing.

FEATURE MASTER/SLAVE OPERATION:Provides “on demand” automatic pump start of up to 16submersible pumps manifolded to the same discharge line.Master pump starts under low demand, and additional pumpsare started as needed as demand increases. Note: Auto startfeature is designed for pumps rated 3/4 HP and higher.

BENEFIT• Reduces power consumption and extends pump life by

running only the number of pumps needed to meet thecurrent demand of open nozzles.

• Improves flow rates during busy periods by automaticallystarting additional pump(s) on demand.

FEATURE ALTERNATING PUMP CONTROL:In manifolded pumping systems, controllers continuallyalternate the lead pump.

BENEFIT• Provides for equal wear of all pumps in the manifolded

system by alternating the lead pump on every start cycle.• In the event of a pump failure, the other pumps in the

manifolded system continue to operate normally, providinga backup system and avoiding shut down of that grade ofproduct.

FEATURE HISTORY STORAGE OF PUMP CONDITIONS:The SCI automatically logs the last five abnormal conditionsseen in the pumping system. This data is retained in non-volatile memory.

BENEFITService technicians can quickly view a history of abnormalconditions, particularly useful when troubleshootingintermittent conditions.

FEATURE OPEN CIRCUIT DETECTION:Detects an open circuit between motor and controller.Condition is indicated on flashing red light alerting servicetechnician to the cause of the problem.

BENEFITReduces service cost by quickly defining the cause oftrouble to the service technician.

FEATURE LOW VOLTAGE DETECTION:Detects low voltage conditions that cause excessive heat inmotor. Condition is detected and pump automatically shutsoff. Once voltage returns to operating range, the STP-SCIauto resets allowing motor to run.

BENEFITExtends motor life by eliminating progressive heat damageto motor windings.

FEATURE PUMP MOTOR FAILURE DETECTION:Signals locked rotor in pump motor by flashing red light.

BENEFITReduces service time by immediately alerting servicetechnician to cause of problem.

FEATURE REMOTE DIAGNOSTIC CAPABILITY:All STP-SCI controllers are equipped with an RS485 serialcommunication port to facilitate on site and remote commun-ications of all diagnostic functions for future site integration.

BENEFITProvides the future opportunity for service personnel todetermine the “fault” prior to arriving at the site, assuringthe availability of parts and technical support on the firstservice call. This reduces the chance of multiple servicevisits to correct a pump problem, thereby reducing servicecosts and downtime.
