Near the coast there was a small village, it was beautiful, simple and the climate there was nice.

The people who lived there were friendly, weekly fishing boats carried their supplies and sold to the market that was there.

Everything in this small town was peace, the lighthouse lit every night, illuminating the small village with its light when it struck. The waves were like a cooing and if paid enough at-tention one could hear the sound of waves hitting the rocks. So nothing prepared them for what would happen next.

Suddenly a horrible creaking could be heard in the darkness. A large cloud of smoke could be seen in the distance and a strong smell could be smelled in the air. Everyone wondered what had happened.

A boat had run into a rock near the shore and had spread all of the oil it was bearing. A big black stain spread on the water as a layer making the sea go into mourning. The smell of oil was becoming stronger and mixed with the cool breeze that you could smell every evening near the beach.

The fishermen recently had problems fishing, fish-ing was not very good. Now, it would be worse, there would be nothing for a long while. Fishermen no longer seen carrying fish to the port. They could not say goodbye as usual. Now they had to go far to be able to live.

The few people who lived there showed the existence of that beautiful little village or what was left of it. It looked almost like it was before, simple and nice homes, some de-stroyed by the passage of time without being inhabited, the sound of waves hitting the rocks could still be heard, but the lighthouse was now off.

But from the cliff the view was not the same, it seemed that even the breeze had changed.

Dead fish floated and it was devastating.

The few people that remained began to rebuild and clean up what had been damaged.

A few years passed until the village was again the same. People who left returned and the boats returned to port. The hope was born again with the fear that history could repeat.
