STORM DRAIN ALERT The contractor hired this year to remove debris from our storm drains reported that they had to dispose of 2 TRUCKLOADS of debris and dirt! Please do not put trash of any kind, including plant material, into our storm drains! Throwing trash into a storm drain is a Class 1 misdemeanor in the City of Alexandria, according to title 11, chapter 13 of the City Code. Our storm drains flow into local streams and the Potomac River, which are the sources of drinking water for many residents in this area. The runoff contributes to the pollution affecting the Chesapeake Bay. If you are found throwing trash into a storm drain you will be reported to the City of Alexandria's Environmental Quality division. If you see your neighbor throwing trash into the storm drain, please contact Rice Property Management at (703)763-1662 or [email protected].
