would realize God has no equal 9:14 Israel would also know God’s redemptive

remain in power so that God would be glorified when He was finished with the plagues 9:16



Re: the 9th plague… 10:21-29 By this time, Pharaoh has offered many

“compromises” He offers another one v. 24 Moses could have accepted what was the

“best one” yet

when it comes to serving God cp. Mt 12:30 “Not a hoof will be left behind” 10:26 Moses is fully committed…unlike his earlier

They were to eat this “in haste” vv. 9-11 Blood from the lamb was to be applied to

the door (posts & lintel) so that the angel of death would “pass over” vv. 22-23



The lamb’s blood was a “sign” v. 13 The Israelites put their trust in God…they

relied on blood to deliver them from death The N.T. “harmonizes” Jn 1:29 1 Cor 5:7

Rom 3:23-26 Jn 8:34 Eph 1:7 1 Jn 1:7 Col 1:14 Mt 26:28



The only thing to avert the judgment of God was the blood of the lamb

True of the O.T. Hebrews in Egypt True of N.T. saints today

Pharaoh & his advisors have a “change of heart” once Israel left Egypt

They had begged them to leave 12:30-33 They need to bring their slave labor back They overtake them by the Red Sea


A Story Of Redemption Ex 3-14 Israel Reacts 14:10-12

Looking back & seeing Egypt’s army fast approaching, Israel complains to Moses

“Were there not enough graves in Egypt?” They had cried for deliverance 3:7 They now claim they prefer slavery


A Story Of Redemption Ex 3-14 Moses Rescues 14:13-14, 21-31

He “reassured” Israel and pointed them to the “salvation of the Lord”

He reminded…“the Lord will fight for you” How God used Moses to save Israel and

destroy Egypt was one of the greatest of all Biblical miracles the Red Sea crossing

The “logistics” of bringing Israel through the Red Sea is staggering

Consider these “statistics” from the U.S. Army Quartermaster General



From the U.S. Army Quartermaster General: Israel crossed in one night v. 21 Population approx. 2-3 million 12:37 If they followed a narrow path double file,

the line would be 800 miles long and would take 35 days & nights to get through



From the U.S. Army Quartermaster General: There had to be a space in the Red Sea

3 miles wide so that they could walk 5,000 abreast to get through in one night

Just another example of the provisions from a mighty God!!

been blessed Israel entered into a special relationship

with Moses (baptism & “provision”)

Christ as a redeemer The redemption be brought for Israel can

be comparable to the redemption Christ offers us in the N.T.
