    "ast tier and a s-ow tier. These tiers use SS8 in the "ast tier and SATA in the s-ow tier

    automatica--y. The rea--y c-e>er thin, here is that an administrator doesnt ha>e to decide

    up "ront where to '-ace the data. The Stora,e Tiers (ana,ement Ser>ice wi-- automatica--y

    ana-y/e the data on Gour dis$s in s-ices o" 1 (. It has two cate,ories "or assi,nment< hot

    spots and co-d spots. ot Spots are areas o" the data that are accessed "reuent-yE the

    assumption here is that since this is acti>e data* it is a hot topic.C )o-d spots are the

    opposite< data that has not Deen accessed re,u-ar-y. A"ter the ana-ysis* hot spots wi-- De

    promoted to the SS8 tier* and any identi"ied co-d spots wi-- De assi,ned to the SATA tier.
