DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND UP TO BESTRONGER, LIGHTER AND MORE VERSATILE.
Uprights bear the full load of the pallet racking system. The transfer
of rack loads from the beams through the uprights is therefore
critical to overall system strength, safety and performance.
Strength where you need it.
The Keylock upright is designed to carry the rack load on the front
face – without twisting, distorting or stressing metal.
Connecting slots are positioned 14mm from the edges and take less
than 9% of the load bearing section. Conventional uprights often
locate slots less than 10mm from the edge and remove up to 2.5
times the amount of steel from the face.
The profile of the slots transfers the load vertically down the upright
and allows beams to connect without being wedged in so that side
loads are not imposed on the upright by the beam end connector.
Keylock uprights have a significantly deeper flange (side face) than
other conventional racking systems, providing greater overall strength
and rigidity and greater resistance to lateral impact damage.
Additional holes have been added to the back of the upright so base
plates can be fitted lower down for improved strength and rigidity.
- Uprights feature a symmetrically stiffened profile to maximise load
bearing strength and structural robustness of the racking.
- Uprights are available in lengths up to 8 metres and fit
easily together to meet any height requirement – and
they are reversible.
- Should accidental damage occur, it is restricted to the
obvious areas, rather than being transmitted
throughout the racking structure.
- There is an extensive range of baseplates from 4mm to
12mm thick.

The I-Beam is designed to meet the

Dexion created the first boxed beam, and the world followed. But
today’s Keylock boxed beam is again streets ahead of the
competition.
- The Keylock boxed beam is a robust design strengthened by unique
rolled flanges. The two sections that form the beam are joined
down its entire length.
- Conventional boxed beams are often little more than two channels
tack welded together. Even a slight lateral impact can cause these
channels to separate.
The world’s best beam is well connected.
The connector is the vital link between the pallet rack’s load bearing
beams and uprights. The Keylock connector creates a clearway
between the side flange of the upright and the beam, ensuring the
load is safely carried on the front face of the upright where it belongs
without ever touching or loading the side of the upright.
Unique Dexion safety lock system.
- An automatic safety lock engages the second the connector clicks
into place, so there’s no chance of beams and uprights
accidentally parting.
- The Dexion safety lock is designed to prevent inadvertent
dislodging of a beam through careless operation. It is also
designed to sheer when excessive load is applied, thus preventing
damage.

Keylock includes a full range of beams that includes the revolutionary
I-Beam, the world standard setting Dexion boxed beam and a range
of special application beams including open, channel, stepped and
RHS beams.
The revolutionary new I-Beam
At the heart of the new Keylock system is Dexion’s I-beam - a
revolutionary design that has enabled a significant reduction in
weight to improve handling and construction without compromising
resistance to damage or load capacity.
- The I-beam profile distributes weight evenly around the total
perimeter of the section, reducing areas of excessive stress, and
thus optimising load carrying capacity.
- The I-Beam is structurally more efficient than conventional box
beams of the same weight, so the same load can be carried by an
I-Beam that is lighter, easier to handle and quicker to construct.
- The I-Beam is designed to resist lateral loads and
accidental damage.
- Using a patented new system known as Tox
Stitching, we’ve created a strong, rigid beam that
actually strengthens the structure. Unlike a tack
welded box beam, the tox stitched I-Beam will not
part with lateral pressure.

Double Deep Racking stores two pallets deep, or four pallets deep in
a double entry rack. The system requires the use of a special reach
truck with either dual pantograph or sliding fork attachments.

Most high density drive-in pallet racking systems are little more than
conventional pallet racks, adapted and reinforced to meet the
stringent demands of drive-in applications.
Dexion’s Deepstor is a revolutionary drive-in racking system purpose
designed to provide the space efficiency and high volume storage of
block stacking, with easy access to pallets.
Unique self centreing rails automatically position pallets quickly and
safely, eliminating time consuming realignment.
There are no aisles and no cross beams, providing maximum space

DYNAMIC PALLET STORAGE SYSTEMSDexion gravity fed and powered mobile pallet storage systems offer
the flexibility to tailor installations to your exact requirements,
maximising both operating efficiency and storage capacity.
Pallet Flow ThroughPallets are placed on rollers that slope slightly downward. They are
fed in from one side, and retrieved from the opposite side.

PALLET RACKING ACCESSORIES
Rack Protection
Any damage to racking will reduce its load carrying capacity. Dexion provides
a range of rack protection accessories designed to safeguard racks from
accidental damage. Rack protection accessories include: Column Guards,
Rack Sentry, Offset Racks, Upright Protectors and Step Back Racks.
Column Guards
The Column Guard is bolted to the floor in front of the uprights to a height of
360mm providing protection from forklifts to the bottom portion of the upright.
Rack Sentry
Rack Sentry is a revolution in rack protection. It’s moulded from a semi-
flexible, stress resistant plastic and uses a patented air cushion system.
It’s ultra light to handle, installed in seconds using velcro straps and brightly
coloured for greater visibility. It is also easily removed for relocation.
Storage accessories
A range of accessories are available to tailor pallet racking to specific needs
and applications. Standard accessories include:
Pallet Support Bars
Supported at each end by the beams, Pallet Support Beams provide a
secondary support member for pallet racking or shelving. The Pallet Support
Bar is designed to have its top surface approximately flush with the beams.
Fork Entry Bars
These are used when unsuitable pallets or unpalletised loads are to be
stored on beams and handled by forklift trucks. The Bars provide a gap of
approximately 75mm above the beam for forks.
Mesh Decks
Clip on Wire Mesh Decks minimise the build up of dust and increase light and
visibility in warehouses. Standard sizes are 1350mm x 840mm and 1250mm
x 840mm. Both are available as standard or heavy duty.
PALLET RACKING MAJOR COMPONENTS
The Keylock System
Dexion Keylock is one of the easiest pallet storage systems in the world to
design and construct. It can be configured as either a single entry or double
entry rack. The basic rack consists of:
Frames: Two upright members joined together by bolted bracing.
Beams: Horizontal load bearing members that slot into the uprights.
Uprights
A wide variety of upright grades can be used to provide rack heights up to
30 metres. Uprights are punched with symmetric hexagonal slots at 76mm
intervals for beam height adjustment and are reversible. Keylock uprights
are available in either a lead free painted finish or pre-galvanised finish.
Baseplates
Baseplates provide a smooth bearing surface for the upright, spread the
load of the upright over a larger area of the floor, provide a means of
securing the upright to the concrete floor and a means of levelling the rack.
Dexion has an extensive range of baseplates to satisfy virtually every need.
Beam End Connectors
All beams are factory welded to beam end connectors and fitted with safety
locks that are designed to resist accidental uplift from pallet handling equipment.

Spandex industrial shelving is a sturdy, versatile and easily assembled
storage system that provides heavy duty capacities at low duty
prices.
Spandex’s close tolerance high performance components make it
suitable for high rise and multi-tier applications.
Spandex Multi Tier utilises unused head room providing greater
storage efficiency.
Spandex Industrial is strong and durable, catering for bay loads of up

MARLBRO SHELVING
Marlbro is strong, easily adjusted and simple to build. Its beams clip
easily into the pre-punched frames and the wire shelves drop into
position. Marlbro can also be readily relocated once constructed.
Although designed as an all purpose shelving system, Marlbro’s non-
porous, corrosion resistant finish make it particularly suitable for
cold storage.
- Electroplated zinc finish with a special lacquer dip to decrease the
risk of food contamination.
- Suitable for linen storage in hotels, merchandising and cold

SLOTTED ANGLE
Slotted Angle provides simple, cost-efficient solutions for virtually any
storage requirement. The unique pre-punched hole pattern allows
multiple steel sections to be bolted together to form sturdy shelving
and storage systems.
Combining steel shelves with Slotted Angle uprights provides one of
the most versatile and economical shelving systems available.
Shelves range in depth from 300mm to 900mm. Standard width is
900mm and an option of 1200mm is also available.

SELECTA-FLO
Dexion Selecta-Flo is a gravity fed order picking system designed to
increase order picking efficiency while saving on valuable floor-space.
- Selecta-Flo delivers efficient full-carton and split carton order
picking with low capital outlay and low operational costs.
- Saves on labour by providing a more orderly picking system. Order
pickers work in the front aisle while replenishers work in the back
aisle, completely separated from the pickers.
By presenting the widest range of products within easy reach of
order pickers, Selecta-Flo eliminates much of the walking and

MAXI BINS
Maxi Bins are is a flexible small parts storage system with seven bin
sizes, five colours and louvred panels that enable you to design your
own system.
The Dexion Maxi range has bins that stack and bins that divide.
There are accessories from hooks, hangers and trolleys and
demountable panels as well as large scale binning systems.
Louvred Panels form the Backbone of theMaxi Small Parts Storage System.
The steel panels allow all sizes of Maxi Bins to hang in a high density
configuration. Panels are finished in Grey.
Panels are 457mm wide and can support 68kg of stock for
each 305mm height of panel. Single sided panels available in
three heights.
Free Standing Racks
Double sided panels with rack feet (rack feet sold separately)
– available in two heights – 1375mm and 1840mm.
Bench Unit
A small free standing louvred panel for bench top and workstation

individual storage needs, Stack-A-Bins can be stacked, mounted on
walls or mounted on Dexion Maxi louvred panels.
Stack-A-Bins are light in weight, easy to handle and non-porous. The
range includes: Visi-Paks, Spare Parts Trays and Drawer Organisers.
SELF STACKED BINS
The interlocking design of Maxi Bins ensures secure stacking and
prevents the bin from splaying under load. The P5 bins slot together
for easy carrying. The P30 and P40 have recessed handholds. The
P60 has a removable zinc plated bar, which facilitates easy stacking
of full bins.

CLEARSPAN
Dexion Clearspan is a cost efficient adjustable light duty cantilever
racking system designed to accommodate long and awkward loads.
It provides easy accessability together with support along the full
length of the item being stored.
Clearspan is available in both single sided and double sided
configurations. The double sided rack provides maximum storage
capacity on a single central column while the single sided rack is
designed to fit flush against a wall.
Compatibility with other storage equipment
Dexion’s proven Keylock pallet racking components are used to
construct Clearspan, so different options can be easily and
economically designed and built to meet specific requirements.
- Suitable for storage of extra long or awkwardly shaped items.

- Storage arms are connected to the upright frame allowing easy

ROLLRACK
Dexion Rollrack is purpose designed for storing long and easily
damaged materials such as rods, piping and beams.
The rack contains a number of cradles, each fitted with ball-bearing
wheels running on rails. Products to be stored are placed in the
cradles and then easily moved in and out of the storage position.
Ideally suited to high volume movements of long loads, Rollrack can
achieve time savings of up to 80% over static rack
