It is terracotta red with beige pieces mixed in.
The 1/4" Down Red Shale is made up of really fine pieces of
crushed rock with a powdery substance, hence it packs really well.

Granite River Wash is round and smooth with 90% of the stones
red, blue and grey in color. It is the same type of stone as
Regular Riverwash, but it is a lot more colorful.

Regular River Wash
Gauthier Soils Ltd. offers 6 different sizes of this decorative
stone: 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1 1/2", 2-4" and 4-6"
The stones are mostly beige in color with 30% red, blue and grey
stones mixed in. The stones are round and smooth.
1/4" Regular River Wash is also called Buckshot. This size is
generally used for children's play structures.
1/2" Regular River Wash is also called Pea Gravel. This size is
used for the same purposes as 1/4" Regular River Wash, but is
slightly bigger. It can also be used as roofing gravel or dog
runs.
3/4'" Regular River Wash provides good drainage due to its size.
It is used for decorative purposes around houses such as around
trees, shrubs and flowerbeds or in between neighboring houses. It
is smooth to walk on.
1 1/2" Regular River Wash provides good drainage due to its
size. It is used for the same purposes as 3/4" Regular River Wash,
but is also used in window wells.
2-4" and 4-6" Regular River Wash is made up of round smooth
oversized stones.
