Confessions Confessions will still be available by contacting the

Rectory - if possible, please call (718) 768-6065 before

Marriages & Baptisms The Public Celebration of the Sacraments (Baptisms and

Marriages) have been postponed. Parishioners can contact

the Rectory and speak with a priest concerning emergency

situations.

Communion to the Sick & Funerals

Funerals will still be celebrated, however attendance will

be limited to 10 people or fewer. While visits to the sick

will be limited, priests will still be available for emergency

sick calls and anointing.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Yesterday (March 25th) we celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation and millions (possible

billions) of Catholics and people of faith throughout the world joined our Holy Father

Pope Francis, praying the "Our Father" together at 12noon (Rome time, 7:00am NY time) as we

face this international crisis of the "Coronavirus" pandemic. As we are each experiencing here in

Brooklyn and throughout NY City and State, we have become one of the areas most affected by

the virus and its spread, so we are trying to cooperate with our Civic leaders' requests to "stay at

home". Msgr. Healy, Fr. Edvard and I, thank God are all feeling well and "adjusting" like

everyone else. As priests we are ordained to serve God's people and not to be able to have

physical contact with our parishioners is a "heavy cross", but we are all experiencing the Mystery

of the Cross in a new way during this Lent of 2020. None of us know how long this particular

"road to Calvary" will be, but what we are preparing to celebrate next week as we will begin

Holy Week is the "Paschal (Easter) Mystery" that tells us that the "victory" has been won. The

Paschal Mystery, the mystery of Jesus' suffering, death, and Resurrection that we celebrate each

year at Holy Week and Easter is the same mystery that Jesus invites and calls each

of us the live every day.

I am hoping and planning to prepare a reflection for Palm Sunday (April 5th) and the Triduum

that we will "post" on our website on next week to try to help us be united as a parish during our

Most Holy Week, even though this year we will not be able to be together physically in Church.

I ask for you prayers in a special way for the adults in our parish (and throughout our diocese,

neighboring dioceses, and in places though the world) who have been preparing to receive the

Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation) at the Easter Vigil and

will now have to wait some time until we are able to be back together in Church and they will be

able to receive the Sacraments.

I hope that you know or have heard that we are offering Mass (privately) and praying for all the

members of the parish every day at 10am in Spanish and 12noon in English. We are

"live -streaming" through the parish website:

OR through the parish Facebook page. We are also "live streaming" the Stations of the Cross"

every night at 7:00pm.

Let us pray in a special way every day for those who are sick, especially parishioners who are

sick and for our "Heroes", our Doctors, nurses, first responders, medical professionals and all

those who care for the sick. We also pray for our President, our Governor and Mayor, and all the

elected officials in our country and throughout the world. St. Michael, pray for us and defend us

in battle. Mary, Mother of God, Mother of the Church and our Mother, pray for us

Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

Ayer (25 de marzo) celebramos la Fiesta de la Anunciación y millones (posiblemente miles de

millones) de católicos y personas de fe, en todo el mundo se unieron a nuestro Santo Padre, el

Papa Francisco, para rezar juntos el "Padre Nuestro" a las 12 de la tarde (hora de Roma, 7:00 a.m.

Hora de Nueva York) al enfrentar esta crisis internacional de la pandemia del "coronavirus". Como

estamos experimentando aquí en Brooklyn, en toda la ciudad y el estado de Nueva York, nos hemos

convertido en una de las áreas más afectadas por el virus y su propagación, por lo que estamos

tratando de cooperar con las solicitudes de nuestros líderes cívicos de "quedarse en casa". Mons.

sabemos cuánto tiempo durará este "camino al Calvario“, particularmente lo que nos estamos

preparando para celebrar la próxima semana, el inicio de la Semana Santa, es el "Misterio pascual

(Pascua)" que nos dice que se ha ganado la "victoria". El misterio pascual, el misterio del

sufrimiento, muerte y resurrección de Jesús que celebramos cada año en la Semana Santa y la Pascua

es el mismo misterio que Jesús invita y llama a cada uno de nosotros a vivir todos los días.

Espero y planeo preparar una reflexión para el Domingo de Ramos (5 de abril) y el Triduo que

publicaremos en nuestro sitio web la próxima semana para tratar de ayudarnos a estar unidos como

parroquia durante nuestra Semana Santa, a pesar de que este año no podremos estar juntos

físicamente en la Iglesia. Les pido oraciones de una manera especial para los adultos en nuestra

parroquia (y en toda nuestra diócesis, diócesis vecinas y en lugares del mundo) que se han estado

preparando para recibir los Sacramentos de Iniciación (Bautismo, Santa Comunión y Confirmación)

en la Vigilia Pascual y ahora tendremos que esperar un tiempo hasta que podamos volver a estar

juntos en la Iglesia y puedan recibir los Sacramentos.

Espero que estén informados de que estamos ofreciendo misa (en privado) y que rezamos por todos

los miembros de la parroquia todos los días a las 10am en español y 12 pm en inglés. Estamos
