Congratulations to the eight STMA members who haveachieved certification this year. To become certified, membersmust accumulate a minimum of 40 points in order to take the

exam, and pass the four sections: agronomics, pest management, admin-istration, and sports-specific field management. To maintain theCertified Sports Field Manager (CSFM) professional designation,members must earn three Continuing Education Points (eEDs) andnine Industry Service Points (lSPs) every 3 years. SIMA Governancechanges on horizon

T he Bylaws Committee is working on adjusting the Bylawsto include the governance changes adopted by the STMABoard of Directors at its Winter 2008 Board Meeting.These changes resulted from a culmination of 10 months

of work by aGovernance TaskGroup, which wasappointed byPresident Andresenin lvlarch 2007. ThatTask Group's recom-mendations can becategorized into fourchanges:

• Combining the Secretary and Treasurer positions into oneoffice, the Secretary/Treasurer.

• Formalizing the ascension process to the STl\-1A Presidency.• Reducing the terms of the Officers to one year in each office.
