    STM-1 switch 1st assumption is Alcatel Switch 7650-SE quipped with 2 shelfs, 2

    control-boards (1+1) switch included (~20KEuros), 2 STM-1 boards(N+1 redondancy) (~20KEuros), 32 E1 cards (7KEuros) .

    Current assumption is Alcatel 1650 SM which is pure VC12/E1 switch

    (2G does not need ATM as UMTS)

    STM-1 K12/K15 monitoring board does not exist, NetHawk M5Mwith STM-1 board is the tool for monitoring.

    APS: automatic protection switching 2 STM-1 links are connected to the MxBSC/TC

    MSP: multiplex section protection

    SFP : small form factor pluggable module

    SDH: synchronous digital hierarchy

    VC: virtual container

    UNI/NNI : User-Network Interface / Network-Network Interface

    Because of clock mastership (TC, BSC cannot distribute clock)we cannot have a direct MxBSC-TC STM-1 connection.
