EVEN BASTING
Even Basting is a series of long running stitches which shows
equal length and equal spacing.Temporary Stitches
UNEVEN BASTING
The uneven basting stitch is made the same as the even basting
stitch except that the stitch on the upper side of the cloth is
made about two or three times as long as the stitch on the under
side of the cloth.
DIAGONAL BASTING
To temporarily attacha lace collar, ruffles,or other trim
toclothingso that the attached article may be removed easily for
cleaning or to be worn with a different garment.
LONG & SHORTBASTING
Long and shortstitch is the type of bastingused to hold seams
and for attaching trimming
RUNNING STITCH
A temporary stitch used for shirring, gathering, mending or
darning.
BACK STITCH
It is used I restitching ripped seams. It is also used as a
hand-sewing sewing utility stitch to attach definitively and

HEMMING STITCH
It holds or fastens in place unfinished folded edges such as
hemline and facings.
DARNING STITCH
