Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, Kieferorthopäden und Zahnärzte,

die int. Jahrestagungen der DGÄZ sind traditionell be-kannt für praxisnahe Wissensvermittlung mit klaren Stellungnahmen. Daher ist die diesjährige Premiere des Wissensaustausches zweier Gesellschaften von beson-derem Interesse, da gerade die Kieferorthopädie immer mehr Berücksichtigung in der interdisziplinären, ästhe-tischen Behandlungsplanung findet.

Wir sind besonders glücklich, die aktuell brennenden Themen in Kooperation mit der DGKFO zu diskutieren und zu versuchen einen gemeinsamen, praktikablen Konsens zu finden im Spannungsfeld zwischen Patient, Kieferorthopäde und Zahnarzt.

Welche kieferorthopädischen Maßnahmen sind sinn-voll und wann? Wie können die Vorteile dem Patienten vermittelt werden? Sind die Behandlungszeiträume kalkulierbar? Wie kann das Behandlungsziel im Voraus genau definiert und prognostiziert werden? Welche äs-thetischen Ansprüche können mit geringerem Aufwand gelöst werden und wann ist die orthognathe Chirurgie indiziert? In wieweit kann die Implantologie einen wich-tigen Beitrag leisten und welche Möglichkeiten beste-hen bei parodontal vorgeschädigten Zähnen?

Es wird spannend und Sie dürfen sich auf einen leben-digen und am Ende hoffentlich symbiotischen Austausch freuen, nach dem sich ästhetische Zahnheilkunde und Kieferorthopädie noch mehr im Alltag gemeinsam eta-blieren lassen.

Dear colleagues, orthodontists and dentists,

The Annual International Congress of the DGÄZ has gained a reputation for its focused and direct approach to knowledge transfer. This year`s congress promises to be particularly interesting as for the first time the em-phasis will be on orthodontics. This discipline is seen to be of increasing importance in interdisciplinary esthetic treatment planning.

We are particularly pleased to be able to provide a platform for the discussion of topics at the forefront of dental research in cooperation with the DGKFO. To-gether we will try to establish a practice-oriented joint consensus between the patient, the orthodontist and the dentist. Which orthodontic measures are indicated and when should they be used? How can the patient be convinced of the advantages? How can we predict with accuracy the length of treatment periods? How can we arrive at an accurate prognosis for our treatment goals? How can we keep the necessary amount of treatment to a minimum and still achieve esthetically satisfacto-ry results, and when is orthognatic surgery indicated? To what extent can implantology play an important role and what possibilities exist for periodontally damaged teeth?

You can look forward to a lively symbiotic exchange of ideas which will provide guidelines and inspiration for the integration of orthodontics and esthetic dentistry into daily practice life. For the first time the Annual Intern. Dr. Galip GürelDr. Galip Gürel promovierte an der Univ. von Istanbul 1981. Er setzte seine Fortbildung an der Univ. von Ken-tucky fort und erhielt seinen Mastertitel von der Ye-ditepe Univ. in Istanbul. Dr. Gürel ist der Gründer und Ehrenpräsident der EDAD (Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry) und Päsident der European Academy of Esthe-tic Dentistry (EAED) für 2011 & 2012 sowie ehrenamtl. Vorsitzender des American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry (ABAD). Er ist Chefredakteur des Quintessenz Journals in der Türkei und Redaktionsmitglied zahlreicher Fach-zeitschriften. Er ist Gastprof. an der New York Univ. (USA), Marseille Dental University (Frankreich) und Istanbul Yeditepe University (Türkei). Autor des Buches “The Science and Art of Porcelain Laminate Veneers” veröffentlicht im QV Verlag 2003 und übersetzt in 10 verschiedene Sprachen. Seit 1984 ist er in privater Pra-xis in Istanbul tätig mit Spezialisierung in Ästhetischer Zahnheilkunde. Dr. Gürel war 110-maliger Kapitän des türkischen Wasserball Nationalteams, Weltsieger der Camel Trophy und Teilnehmer der Paris-Dakar Rally.

Dr. Galip GürelDr. Galip Gürel graduated 1981 at the University of Istanbul and continued his education at the University of Kentucky, Depart. of Prosth. He received his MSc degree from Yedite-pe University in Istanbul. He is the founder and honorary president of EDAD (Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry) and President of the European Academy of Esthetic Den-tistry (EAED) for 2011 & 2012 as well as a honorary diplo-mate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry (ABAD). He is the editor-in-chief of the Quintessence Magazine in Turkey and on the editorial board of several journals. He is a visiting professor at the New York University (USA) , Marseille Dental University (France) and Istanbul Yeditepe University (Turkey). Dr. Gürel is the author of “The Science and Art of Porcelain Laminate Veneers” published by Quint-essence in 2003, translated into 10 different languages. He has his own clinic in Istanbul, specializing in Aesthetic Dentistry, since 1984. Dr. Gürel has been the Captain of the Turkish National Team of Water Polo for 110 times, a World Champion of the Camel Trophy and a participant of the Paris-Dakar Rally.

Dr. Stefano GracisStefano Gracis erhielt seinen D.M.D. Titel 1986 von der Univ. Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) und 1987 von der Univ. Pavia (Italien). 1990, unter der Führung von Prof. Ralph Yuodelis, erhielt er das Auszeichnungszertifikat in Prosthodontics mit einem M.S.D. Grad an der Univ. Washington in Seattle. Er ist aktives Mitglied und vergangener Generalsekretär der European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) und letz-ter Präsident der Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP). Er ist in der Redaktion des International Journal of Prosthodontics und dem European Journal of Esthetic Den-tistry. Er hat zahlreiche Artikel auf dem Gebiet der restau-rativen Zahnheilkunde veröffentlicht und lehrt regelmäßig, sowohl national als auch international. Er betreibt eine eigene Praxis in Mailand, Italien, mit der Spezialisierung in restaurativer Zahnheilkunde und zahnärztlicher Prothetik.

Dr. Stefano GracisStefano Gracis received his D.M.D. degree in 1986 from the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) and, in 1987, from the University of Pavia (Italy). In 1990, under the guidance of Prof. Ralph Yuodelis, he obtained the certificate in Prosthodontics with an M.S.D. degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is an active member and past Secretary General of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and the Past President of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP). He is on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Prosthodontics and of the European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. He has contributed several articles in the field of restora-tive dentistry. He practices in his own clinic in Milan, Italy, limiting his activity to prosthodontics and resto-rative dentistry.

Dr. David John De FrancoBachelor of Arts in Biochemie von der Univ. Pennsylvania 1980, Promotion an der Univ. Connecticut 1984 und in oraler Biologie an der Harvard Univ. 1988. Postgraduate Spezia-lisierung in KFO 1988 an der Harvard School of Dental Medicine, am Forsyth Dental Center und im Jahr 1998 an der Univ. von Mailand. Er wurde Diplomand des American Board of Orthodontics 1999, des European Board of Ortho-dontics im Jahr 2001 und ein Diplomand des Italian Board of Orthodontics 2003. Dr. De Franco hat in zahlreichen na-menhaften Fachzeitschriften Beiträge veröffentlicht und ist internationaler Referent auf dem Gebiet der KFO. Er war Redakteur der „Ortognatodonzia Italiana“ und „Progress in Orthodontics“, der offiziellen Journale der Italian Society of Orthodontics. Er ist Mitglied zahlreicher kieferorthopä-discher Fachgesellschaften und betreibt eine kieferortho-pädische Praxis in Mailand, Italien.

Dr. David John De FrancoBachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Univ. of Penn-sylvania in 1980, a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Univ. of Connecticut in 1984 and a Doctorate of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from Harvard Univ. in 1988. He received a postgraduate specialty in Orthodontics in 1988 from Har-vard School of Dental Medicine, Forsyth Dental Center and in 1998 from Univ. of Milan. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1999, European Board of Orthodontics in 2001 and Italian Board of Orthodontics in 2003. Dr. De Franco has published in numerous journals and he is an international lecturer in the field of orthodontics. He is editor for the Angle Society Eastern Component and past editor of the journals “Ortognatodonzia Italiana” and “Pro-gress in Orthodontics” of the Italian Society of Orthodon-tics. He is a member of numerous orthodontic associations and he has a practice limited to orthodontics in Milan, Italy.

Seit 2006 Ernennung zum Professor ehrenhalber an der Universität Hongkong und Wissenschafl Direktor des Studiengangs „Master of Sci-ence in Lingual Orthodontics” an der Medizinischen Hoch-schule Hannover. Dr. Wiechmann ist Mitglied des German Board of Orthodontics. Schwerpunkte der wissenschaftli-chen Tätigkeit: Lingualtechnik, Erwachsenenbehandlung, interdisziplinäre kieferorthopädisch-kieferchirurgische Behandlung, kieferorthopädische Konzepte bei maximaler Verankerung über Mini- und Mikroschrauben, Entwicklung spezieller Behandlungsapparaturen für die Lingualtechnik mit CAD/CAM Verfahren.

Dr. Dirk WiechmannDr. Dirk Wiechmann has been in private practice since 1998 in Bad Essen, Germany, which is actually the biggest lingual practice in the world with more than 800 lingual patients in active treatment. In 2002 Dr Wiechmann became Scientific Director of the postgraduate diploma program in Lingual Orthodontics at the University Paris VII in France. By 2006 he had also become Scientific Director for the postgraduate MSc. program in Lingual Orthodontics at the Hannover Medical School, Germany.He holds a position as honorary associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong, China.

Prof. Dr. Bernd Klaiber1973 promovierte und 1980 habilitierte Prof. Klaiber an der Universität Freiburg. 1981 wurde er zum Professor ernannt. 1986 erhielt er eine besondere Auszeichnung: den Walther-Engel-Preis der Akademie für Zahnärztliche Fortbildung Karlsruhe. 1997 folgte der Ruf auf den Lehrstuhl für Zahner-haltung und Parodontologie an der Universität Würzburg. Bis heute ist Prof. Klaiber dort Direktor der Poliklinik fürZahnerhaltung und Parodontologie, 1998 erhielt er den Jahresbestpreis der DGZMK. Prof. Klaiber ist insbesondere auf dem Gebiet der Kompositrestaurationen ein herausra-gender Praktiker als auch Wissenschaftler und insbeson-dere durch seine zahlreichen und beliebten praktischen Ar-beitskurse als auch wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen ein international besonders anerkannter Referent.

OA Priv.-Doz. Dr. Wolfram HahnBis 1995 studierte Dr. Hahn Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferheil-kunde an der Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Danach folgte von 1996 - 1997 eine Assistenzzeit in freier Praxis sowie zwischen 1997 und 2004 die wissenschaftliche Mitarbeit in verschiedenen Fachabteilungen der Universi-tätszahnklinik Göttingen (Prof. Motsch - Kons, Prof. Hüls - Prothetik, Prof. Jacobs – Zahnärztl. Chirurgie und Prof. Kubein-Meesenburg – KFO).1997 Promotion bei Prof. Steding (Abt. Embryologie), 2003 Fachzahnarzt für Oralchirurgie, 2006 Fachzahnarzt für Kie-ferothopädie. Seit 2005 Oberarzt mit interdisziplinärem Schwerpunkt in der Abteilung Kieferorthopädie. 2010 Ha-bilitation. Seit 2003 implantatchirurgische Tätigkeit bei niedergelassenen Kollegen in verschiedenen Praxen. Autor zahlreicher Publikationen, Buchbeiträge und Bücher auf den Gebieten Implantologie und Kieferorthopädie.

Prof. Dr. Bernd KlaiberIn 1973 Prof Klaiber graduated and in 1980 he got his state doctorate at the University of Freiburg. In 1981 he has been called as a professor. He got a special award from the Academy for dental education in Karlsruhe, the „Walther-Engel-Award“. In 1997 Prof. Klaiber got his call to the De-partement of Conservative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Würzberg on which he is the Director until today. 1998 Prof. Klaiber got the annual best award from the DGZMK.He is a specialist at the field of composit restauration and a well known practioner and scientist. Especially his nu-merous and very popular practical courses and his scien-tific publications established his outstanding international reputation.

OA Priv.-Doz. Dr. Wolfram HahnUntil 1995 Dr. W. Hahn studied dentistry at the Georg August Univ. Goettingen, Germany. From 1996 to 1997, he held resi-dencies in private practices. From 1997 until 2004, he was a research worker in various departments of the Univ. Dental Hospital, Goettingen (Prof. Motsch - operative dentistry, Prof. Hüls - prosthetics, Prof. Jacobs - dental surgery and Prof. Ku-bein-Meesenburg – orthodontics). In 1997, he gained a docto-rate in dental medicine (Prof. Steding, Depart. of Embryology). In 2003, he became a medical specialist in oral surgery and in 2006 a medical specialist in orthodontics. Since 2005, he has been a senior physician with an interdisciplinary specialization in the Depart. of Orthodontics. In 2010, Dr Hahn gained his postdoctoral lecture qualification. Since 2003, he has worked for dentists in private practice specializing in implant surgery. He is the author of numerous publications, contributions to books and books in the fields of implantology and orthodontics.

Nach Eingang Ihrer Anmeldung und des Verrechnungsschecks oder des Bankabbuchungsauftrages erhalten Sie eine Anmel-debestätigung mit Anfahrtsskizze zum Veranstaltungsort. Im Fall eines Rücktritts bis 8 Wochen vor der Veranstaltung wird eine Bearbeitungsgebühr von EUR 80,00 erhoben. Bei Stornierungen nach diesem Termin kann keine Rückerstat-tung der geleisteten Zahlung erfolgen. Es besteht jedoch die Möglichkeit, eine Ersatzperson zu nennen. Gebühren für Aus-landsüberweisungen und Schecks gehen immer zu Lasten des Teilnehmers! Die Registrierung der Teil nehmer erfolgt chronologisch nach Post- und Scheckeingang.Dem jeweiligen Referenten bleibt es vorbehalten, im Bedarfs-fall abweichende inhaltliche Änderungen vorzunehmen. Bei praktischen Arbeitskursen werden die notwendigen Instru-mente und Materialien jeweils im Rahmen der Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung gestellt. Es besteht kein Anspruch auf Einzelbe-stückung. Live-Behandlungen können nicht garantiert werden, da diese vom jeweiligen Patientenfall abhängig sind. Als dafür mögliche Alternative stehen Video-Demos zur Verfügung. Beieinem Gesamtausfall der Veranstaltung aus triftigen Gründen wird die volle Teilnahmegebühr zurückerstattet. In diesem Fall haftet der Veranstalter nicht für eventuell angefallene Reise-kosten und Spesen. Es sind die deutschen Gerichte zuständig. Gerichtsstand im Inland ist Miesbach. Die Z.a.T. After receipt of your registration and the account-only cheque or direct debiting order, we will send you a regis-tration confirmation along with a route description to the location of the event. In case of a cancellation up to 8 weeks before the event takes place, a processing fee of Euro 80.– will be charged. For withdrawals after that date, no reimbursements can be made. It is possible, however, to nominate a substitute. Fees on international bank transfers and cheques are payable by the participant! The participants will be registered in chronological order, i.e. after receipt of registration forms and cheques. It is reserved to the referents to change the program in case of need. The instruments and materials for the hands-on courses will be provided within the bounds of possibility and there is no right to the equipment for each participant. The programme is subject to alterations. Live treatments cannot be guaranteed as these depend on the respective patient case. Alternatively, video demos are available. If the event should be cancelled due to significant reasons, the entire participation fee will be reimbursed. In that case, the organ-izing party cannot be held liable for possibly incurred travel costs and expenses. Competence lies with German courts. Place of jurisdiction within Germany is Miesbach.
