Stewards spoke to trainer V Cassar regarding the timing of his late scratching, denying a reserve a start.

Stewards accepted the reason tendered by Mr Cassar, and took no further action.

A pre race sample is to be obtained from DISMAYED – Race 6 No. 3

RACE 1 WELCOME TO TAREE GREYHOUNDS MAIDEN 314M

WINNER STILTON CHEEKY( 6 )

PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

TEDDIE BRANN( 2 ) and HAPPY BRAE( 5 ) dwelt at the start, conceding ground. BLUE BELIEVER( 1 ) and RAPID COMBUSTION( 4 ) came together at the first turn, both losing ground, where TEDDIE BRANN( 2 ) also lost ground, and commenced to tail out. HAPPY BRAE( 5 ) galloped on the back of RIVERGUM WINE( 7 ) soon after entering the home straight. TEDDIE BRANN( 2 ) was vetted with no incapacitation period imposed. Stewards spoke to the handler of TEDDIE BRANN( 2 ) regarding the greyhounds performance. Mr White informed Stewards that consideration will be given to retiring the greyhound.

Stewards observed DENIED( 5 ) become fractious when being boxed, delaying the start somewhat. DENIED( 5 ), JEALOUS AGAIN( 7 ), and COASTAL GEM( 8 ), were all slow to begin. DENIED( 5 ) galloped on the back of JEALOUS AGAIN( 7 ), at the first turn, both losing considerable ground. COASTAL GEM( 8 ) raced wide in the back straight and in the home straight. JEALOUS AGAIN( 7 ) was vetted and was found to be injured in the off side quad. 10 Days Incapacitation Certificate issued. The winner of this event NASTASSJA( 1 ) was locked away for a Urine Sample to be obtained at the Direction of Stewards. Stewards endorsed the registration certificate of DENIED( 5 ) Hard To Box

Stewards observed HOW SMART( 7 ) become fractious when being boxed, requiring the assistance of the starter, delaying the start. RAPID ESCAPE( 3 ) was slow to begin. HOW SMART( 7 ) and KELL’S SPIRIT( 8 ) came together soon after the start, both losing ground. HOW SMART( 7 ) galloped on the back of ELECTRA( 5 ), in the run to the first turn, with ELECTRA( 5 ) losing ground and commencing to tail out. RAPID ESCAPE( 3 ) raced wide at the first turn checking KELL’S SPIRIT( 8 ), both losing ground. Shortly after, MAIN ATTRACTION( 1 ) was checked off the heels of CANDELA FIRE( 6 ), causing MAIN ATTRACTION( 1 ) to race wide checking MEL MULWEE( 2 ), both losing ground from this incident. KELL’S SPIRIT( 8 ) was checked off the heels of RAPID ESCAPE( 3 ) approaching the home turn, losing further ground. ELECTRA( 5 ) was vetted and was found to be injured in the off side quad. 14 Days

Stewards declared this and all other remaining 314m races today, to be hand started. IT’S SPRING TIME( 3 ), and BIG REX MULDOON( 4 ) were slow to begin. BIG REX MULDOON( 4 ) lost ground in the run to the first turn. CUNDLE CHECKBOOK( 2 ) and SKETCHY COHESION( 5 ) came together at the first turn, with SKETCHY COHESION( 5 ) losing ground, hampering WHERE’S KINLOCH( 8 ).

EASY SLOY BOY( 1 ), GAMBETH( 2 ), and DOUBLE DREAM( 3 ), came together at the first turn, with DOUBLE DREAM( 3 ) losing ground sharply, colliding heavily with SLICK PANTHER( 5 ). From this incident, SLICK PANTHER( 5 ) fell and failed to finish, and DOUBLE DREAM( 3 ) lost considerable ground. SKETCHY IMPACT( 8 ) eased when leading at the turn out of the back straight, surrendering the lead. SLICK PANTHER( 5 ) was vetted and was found to have sustained a fractured off side metacarpus and toe. 60 Days Incapacitation Certificate issued.

GLENREAGH SKUD( 6 ) was vetted and was found to have lacerated the near side hind Achilles. 21 Days Incapacitation Certificate issued. SKETCHY IMPACT( 8 ) was vetted and was found to have torn the off side pin muscle. 28 Days Incapacitation Certificate issued.
