Two Promises:

1. The Holy Spirit will fall upon you soon and empower you to be my witnesses (v8)

2. Jesus himself will return again (v11)

What should our response be?We should live our lives in the light of this truth

Ready For His Return• The dead will be raised (1 Cor 15:52)

• There will be judgment by Jesus (2 Cor 5:10)

• The Devil and his angels will be destroyed (Matt 25:41)

• Death will be destroyed (1 Cor 15:26)

• There will be new heavens and a new earth (Rev 21:1)

• Jesus will reign over everything (Heb 1:8)

• We will see Jesus face to face (1 John 3:2)

• We will reign with Jesus for eternity (2 Tim 2:12)

Ready For His Return

How should we live in view of Jesus’ promise to return?

1. Give your life to Jesus – get right with God

2. Tell others about him

3. Live a life that pleases him

4. Look forward to it with expectant faith

What proof has Jesus given us of his return?

1. He came the first time

2. The Bible is packed with prophecies of his return

3. The Bible explains the delay (2 Peter 3:8-9)

4. He is still building his church

5. He is still at work in people’s lives today
