1. Royal SpringRoyal Spring has been a main source of water in Georgetown since the first settlements in the area. In 1889, the Georgetown Water Works Company was incorporated, anddistributed the spring water until the City of Georgetown purchased it in 1945.

2. Georgetown Scott County MuseumGeorgetown and Scott County Museum collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets books, records, paper and artifacts or specimens of significant historical and educational interest relating to Scott County history.

3. Georgetown CollegeGeorgetown College traces its roots to Royal Springs Academy, a classical school founded by Baptist minister Elijah Craig in Georgetown in 1787. It was renamedRittenhouse Academy in 1798. In 1829, Georgetown College was established as a Baptist college and remains an active, private liberal arts college.

4. Yuko-En Japanese GardenThe official Kentucky-Japan Friendship Garden, Yuko-En is located just north of Elk-horn Creek. The 5 1/2-acre garden was built in 2000 as a project between the citizens of Georgetown and its sister city, Tahara, Japan.

5. Ward HallWard Hall is a Greek Revival antebellum plantation mansion built by Junius and Matila Ward in 1857 as a summer residence. Due to financial reverses following the Civil War, the Wards were forced to sell the plantation in 1867.

6. Great CrossingGreat Crossing received its name because of the buffalo crossing nearby Elkhorn Creek. Today the park amenities include an open area, a boat ramp, picnic shelter, parking areas, and a walking path/nature trail that connects with Western Elementary School.

7. Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm

This thoroughbred retirement facil-ity provides a dignified retirement for thoroughbreds, champions and “unknowns” whose racing and breeding careers have ended. Former film critic, Michael Blowen, founded this not-for-profit farm in 2003.

8. Georgetown PavillionThis recreation center has indoorgymnasiums, indoor pools, fitness classes, a fitness area, meeting space and much more.

10. Sadieville City ParkSadieville developed the City Park as a center for construction crews for the Cincinnati Southern Railway (CSRR), between Cincinnati and Knoxville. Sadieville gained statewide significance for its important role as a departure point for African American migration to Kansas dur-ing the late-1870s. Today, the town contains an impressive collection of late Victorian-era and early twenti-eth-century commercial and domestic architecture.

11. Rosenwald SchoolSadieville Rosenwald School was built 1917-1920 with funds from Julius Rosenwald, philanthropist and president of Sears, Roebuck Co., who built state-of-the art schools for African- American children across the South. The school remained segregated until 1954. The Sadieville Rosenwald School was closed and the Mount Pleasant Church congregation used it as their fellowship hall. The Mount Pleasant Church closed in 2000. The Rosenwald School was restored with funds from Toyota Manufacturing, Friends of Sadieville, Inc. and the Alice Rosenwald Fund.

9. Country Boy BrewingCountry Boy Brewing was founded in February 2012 by four Kentucky boys with a passion for unique craft brews. The co-founders fell in love with brewing while teaching in Japan and opened up their first home-grown craft brewery in Lexington. Country Boy expanded their brewery business in 2017 by building a state-of-the-art brewery and taproom in Georgetown.
