His business career is marked by a consistent ability to rapidly assess internal organizational and external market/industry challenges then make the critical decisions to drive the change necessary to propel growth and/or re-position and enhance business processes, productivity, and innovation. Beginning as a Project Engineering for the Department of Defense and advancing through positions as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and New Product Engineering Manager for Allied Signal Aerospace and Becton Dickinson, Mr. Depoe moved into the consulting field with IBM Global Services, honing his capabilities in Six Sigma and process improvement while working with Fortune 100 leaders in e-Commerce, PLM SAP, Siebel/ERP, and supply chain optimization. Harnessing his consulting skills to the start-up of Professional Certified Process Consultants, Stephen established and grew a successful consulting practice serving Fortune 50 corporations and the Army Corps of Engineers. As the chief strategist for both the operations consulting and business development portions of his business, Mr. Depoe succeeded in establishing productive business relationships, with Overhead Door Company, where he was tapped to turnaround their engineering operations. Serving as Director of Engineering for Overhead Door, in a two-year contract position, Mr. Depoe applied Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC best practices, combined with project management office (PMO) and new product development (NPD) discipline to drastically reduce manufacturing errors and deliver a 65% improvement in quality while energizing product development, compressing the development cycle by 30%. Following his association with Overhead Door Company, Stephen focused his expertise in performance improvement and Lean Six Sigma in the service of leading clients of the $16B Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), as a Principal in CSC's Strategy Services practice. As a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and subject matter expert in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), he delivered significant results for CSC and its clients by strengthening CSC's LSS competency center, sparking a 1600% sales increase through LSS engagements, and achieving quality and PLM cycle time improvements for major clients, including the U.S. Army. In his current position with Infosys Consulting, Mr. Depoe continues to share his LSS expertise with executives in high tech manufacturing.
