Our professor and historian will give us an overview of the tour and our objectives. Day 3 • Sunday, June 19 London We begin with a driving tour of London, including the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Tower Bridge. We will tour the Imperial War Museum which has exhibits and weaponry from WWI and WWII. We tour the HMS Belfast, a light cruiser that assisted in the D-Day invasion by shelling German artillery emplacements. Free afternoon and evening to explore. Day 4 • Monday, June 20 London We will visit the Churchill War Rooms, the underground nerve center of Britain’s war effort, and St. Paul’s Cathedral and its American Chapel honoring the U.S. contribution to the war. Day 3 • LondonThe morning city tour will focus on WWII London. We see historic places around the city that were significant during the war as well as traditional points of interest such as Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Tower Bridge. We will visit the Churchill War Rooms, the underground nerve center of Britain’s war effort, and the Imperial War Museum which exhibits authentic examples of WWII weaponry and WWI trench warfare. There is also the option of seeing St. Paul’s Cathedral and the chapel that houses the book listing every airman killed while stationed in England.

Day 4 • PortsmouthDepart London for Bletchley Park where we will visit the nerve center for intelligence used in the Allied War effort, code name Ultra. Here we will see the place where the Enigma machine is housed and where the cyphers and codes of several Axis countries were decrypted during the war. This afternoon we will tour Southwick House, the advance command post of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force. In the months leading up to D-Day in 1944, the house became the headquarters of the main Allied commanders, including Naval Commander-In-Chief Admiral Ramsay, Allied Supreme Commander General Eisenhower, and the Army Commander-In-Chief General Montgomery.

Day 5 • NormandyFollowing breakfast, we will visit the Royal Marine Museum and see Nelson’s HMS Victory. If time permits, we’ll visit the British Naval Museum.

In the afternoon, we board the cross-channel ferry. Dinner is served during the trip. We will then board our coach and travel to Caen.

Day 7 • Thursday, June 23 • NormandyWe will begin in Ste Mere Eglise where American airborne forces descended on D-Day, after which we head to Utah Beach. After lunch we drive to Pointe du Hoc to view the cliffs that US Rangers scaled to eliminate German artillery, and then we spend the afternoon at Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery.

Day 8 • Friday, June 24 • Normandy to ParisWe’ll spend the morning exploring the Norman town of Bayeux, with options to see the Cathedral and the Bayeux Tapestry, an embroidered cloth depicting William the Conqueror’s invasion of England that is nearly 250 ft. long and over 900 years old. After lunch we depart Normandy for Paris, the City of Light. Free evening to explore Paris.

Day 9 • Saturday, June 25 • ParisFull free day to explore Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre, Les Invalides and Napoleon’s Tomb, a Seine River cruise—the options are endless.

Day 10 • Sunday, June 26 • HomeAfter breakfast, an airport transfer will be provided to the Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG), for return flight to the U.S.

Day 5 • Tuesday, June 21 • PortsmouthDepart London for Salisbury Plain in County Wiltshire to visit Stonehenge. Neolithic builders constructed the assemblage of stones aligned with the Winter and Summer solstice between 3000 and 2000 B.C. This afternoon we will tour Southwick House, the advance command post of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force. In the months leading up to D-Day in 1944, the house became the headquarters of the main Allied commanders, including Naval Commander-In-Chief Admiral Ramsay, Allied Supreme Commander General Eisenhower, and the Army Commander-In-Chief General Montgomery. We then visit the Portsmouth dockyard and HMS Victory, Lord Nelson’s flagship in the battle of Trafalgar. That night we board the cross channel ferry for the overnight trip to Normandy.

Day 6 • Wednesday, June 22 • NormandyAfter arrival in the French port of Ouistreham, we visit Pegasus Bridge, site of the extraordinary action of British airborne forces. We then drive along the British and Canadian beaches and have lunch in the sea-side town of Arromanches. The German artillery battery at Longues-sur-Mer, where the guns are still in place, is our next stop, and we conclude the day with a visit to the German cemetery.
