Step 1 – Validating Windows Systems Configuration

• Operating System that runs VMware Player
• 2 Gigabytes of RAM
• 15 Gigabytes of hard drive space
• Screen Resolution of 1280 x 1024
• Network connection with at least 256Kbps down & 64kbps up to the internet
On the next few slides we will be walking you through the steps to verify your system meets the CyberNEXS distributed game requirements.
Minimum System Requirements

Before you can compete in the practice or qualification rounds, you will need to verify that your computer is capable of running all of the software required to compete. In these slides, we are using Microsoft Windows XP; other Operating Systems will look differently. Now, click on “Start”

This menu will appear; right click on the "My Computer" menu item.

Here you see the "My Computer" menu items; click on the "Properties" item.

The "System Properties" window will appear. This is where you can validate if your computer has enough RAM. You should have a minimum of 2 GB (gigabytes) RAM.

•A Kilobyte is 1,000 bytes•A Megabyte is 1,000 Kilobytes
•A Gigabyte is 1,000 Megabytes
•A Terabyte is 1,000 Gigabytes
Therefore if you have 1,531 MB that would be approximately 1.5 GB
A quick note on bytes, MB, GB, TB etc

Next we will validate if your computer has enough hard drive space available. Click on the "Start" menu item.

This time, left click the "My Computer" menu item.

When the “My Computer” window appears, look at the amount of free space remaining on your disk. It should be at least 15 gigabytes.

You can also check the amount of free space you have by right clicking on your Local Disk (C:)and selecting “properties”

You are now finished verifying your computer’s memory and disk space for the CyberNEXS requirements. You can proceed to the next step: Downloading ZIP and MD5 programs.
