Step-by-step Procedure for Online General Hospital Orientation
Step 1: Register to http://elweb.iau.edu.sa/form/kfh
NOTE:
1. On the “Department/College” part, please choose your respective department if you are a
staff/employee, while choose your respective college if you are an undergraduate student. There
is an available “Others” option for category not mentioned on the list; the directorate will call
your mobile number for confirmation, if needed.
2. On the “Position” part, please choose the following accordingly:
a. Staff/Employee – all KFHU staff (i.e. staff, residents including rotating residents, registrars,
faculty/lecturer/demonstrator positions, fellow/post-graduate students of IAU, etc.)
b. Contract Employee – housekeeper, laundry personnel, maintenance and biomedical staff, IT
staff, other subcontract employees, etc.
c. IAU Student – undergraduate students from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University
d. Non IAU Student – undergraduate students from other affiliated universities
e. Volunteer/ Attachment – licensed healthcare practitioners who request a specific period of
training in the hospital without remuneration for the service rendered.
f. Intern
3. “Joining Date/Start of Rotation Date” should be written in Gregorian calendar format [i.e. 25 Dec
2017 (day-month-year)] if you are not using Google Chrome or Apple Safari.

Step 2: An e-mail will be immediately sent to you after a successful registration. Instructions will be given thereafter.
***REMINDER: Registrations beyond THURSDAY – 2:00 p.m. of the same week will have to wait for another week to start the online GHO Course.

Step 3: Log-in to the GHO Course blackboard (https://vle.iau.edu.sa/) using the credentials given in the confirmation email. You should have a stable internet connection to start with the course since it is comprised of video-formatted lectures.

Step 4: Proceed by choosing the “KFHU General Hospital Orientation” option in your Course List on the top-right corner of the blackboard program.

Step 5: Begin with the first lecture (KFHU Mission, Values and Objectives) by clicking the first folder option below the instructions.

Step 6: Watch the first video and then answer the corresponding assignment below.

Step 7: If you fail to correctly answer the assignment, try watching the video-lecture again. Correct response will allow you to proceed to the next lesson.
After clicking the "OK" button, click "KFHU Orientation" on the top-left or left side of the page to proceed to the next lecture.

Step 8: Watch the last video-lecture which is the “Patient & Staff Safety”. Answer the last assignment therein.

Step 9: You will know if you are finished with the online GHO Course if you have reached the last folder “End of the Course Instructions & Certification”.
Inside this folder, you will find the following:

A. Congratulations! You have successfully finished the KFHU General Hospital Orientation. Your Certificate of Completion will be sent to your e-mail, and to your respective department or college for endorsement. You may view your scores by clicking “My Grades” button located at the left side.
Your grades should have a total grade of 35 out of 35 for you to be eligible for a Certificate of Completion.

C. For your references for this course, kindly click on the “KFHU Policies and Procedures” (works only with the KFHU internet and/or any computers in the hospital) and/or “Educational References” at the left-side part of the blackboard.

Step 10: You will receive a carbon copy (cc) email of your Certificate of Completion to the KFHU General Hospital Orientation Course within a week. It will be submitted to your respective department / college and/or your personnel department for filing purposes.
