    (i) Read the questions first. Highlight the key words inthe question.

    (i) Read the passage thoroughly and look out for:- Plot (what happens in the passage?)

    - Who are the characters?- Look at the body language of the characters.- Look at the emotions of the characters as

    expressed through their words and thoughts.- Look at where the story is set and the

    mood/atmosphere of the scene.- Any repeated words or ideas?- Look for any interesting diction (word choice) used

    to describe the character or situation.
