CRADLE OF MALBEC During the 1st century, roman legions invaded the Quercy Region in Southwestern France, establishing the city of Divona Cadurcorum which centuries later became Cahors city and planting the first vines. Throughout centuries back in the 12th century, Malbec wines from Occitania Southwestern France Region, including Cahors wines, were exported to the United Kingdom, through Bordeaux.

A PASSION TO BE SHARED Since 1821, the Bouey Family perpetuates the tradition of great wines with an intact passion and sensitivity for quality, elegance and innovation.

Maison Bouey's love for vinegrowing and winemaking is reflected through exceptional, unique and innovative sourcing partnerships.

With a strong heritage and history in creating talented Bordeaux wines, Maison Bouey extends this expertise to the creation of a new authentic collection, mixing patrimonial legitimacy and modernity.

Centuries after centuries, exports included Netherland, Northern Europe, North America, Germany... In Russia they were adopted by the tzar court as a prestige wine including for the orthodox Church as wine for the Holy Mass. After the 19th century, because of migrants, Malbec expanded its vineyards much outside Cahors, throughout Southwestern France, in Bordeaux and as far as to Argentina.

Malbec is a powerful and vigorous varietal, getting its best expression and outstanding character on the sunny lands and terroirs of its native Southwestern France vineyards of Cahors.

STELLIS, AN INVITATION TO DISCOVER AN EXCEPTIONNAL LAND The history of Bordeaux is closely linked with Occitania. United since Roman age, this important region of Southwestern France has had its current name since the Middle Ages. From the latin "Occitania", it is composed of "Occ" which means "yes" in Occitan and "itania" which cames from "Aquitania" (Aquitaine).

This area has still its own regional language, the Occitan. Its culture, gastronomy, soil, heritage, and way of life make it one of the richest French areas.
