SPRING 2012Toughness Endures
Meet the DesignerStella Lee Crumpton: creator, designer and producer of Stella Lee Bags was born in Tacoma, Washington in March of 1988. After graduating from Tacoma School of the Arts in 2006, she enrolled in an automotive repair program at Clover Park Technical College. Having no prior experience with cars, she found the discovery of a new trade to be thrilling. After finishing the technician courses in 2008 she gravitated towards the study of the car’s interior and it was in these automotive upholstery classes that she found her niche; designing and creating unique, sturdy, and fashionable accessories. All of Stella’s bags are crafted from heavy duty automotive vinyl (not only found to be durable but also resistant to stains and changes in climate), and are designed using the same basic concepts used for automotive upholstery.
Stella feels her bags allow her to merge two different academic experiences as well as her two greatest passions: art and the automobile. Stella is currently a student at Washington State University majoring in Apparel merchandising, Design and Textiles.
