WELCOME MESSAGE
Welcome to the 2019 1st International Conference on Engineering and Management in Industrial System (ICOEMIS). On behalf of the conference committee, I would like to welcome all the presenters and participants at the conference. This conference is organized by the
Department of Industrial Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya. The objective of 2019 1st ICOEMIS is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industry professionals from all over the world to present their ideas, research results, and development activities in industrial (both of manufacture & service) management. Following the challenges of the current industrial management, the ICOEMIS topic areas mainly focus on the Open Innovation Application on Service and Manufacturing Industry. In this opportunity, I would like to express my great gratitude to all keynote and invited speakers for their support to make this conference a great success. Prof. dr. Wim Vanhaverbeke
Wim Vanhaverbeke is a Professor of Strategy and Innovation Management at the Neoma Business School (France) and visiting professor at ESADE Business School and till recently also at the National University of Singapore. He published in
different international journals such as Organization Science, Research Policy, Journal of Product Innovation Management, California Management Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Small Business Economics, Journal of Business Venturing, Technovation, etc. He was co-editor with Henry Chesbrough and Joel West of “Open Innovation: Researching a New Paradigm” (OUP, 2006) and “New frontiers in open innovation” (OUP, 2014). He published a management book “Managing open innovation in SMEs” (CUP – 2017) and an academic volume “Researching open innovation in SMEs” (World Scientific Press – 2018). He is a dedicated open innovation and innovation ecosystem researcher collaborating with different partners around the globe. His current research is focusing on innovation ecosystems and digital strategies and on

Dr. Mohd Rizal Bin Salleh is
Associate Professor in Faculty of
Manufacturing Engineering,
University Teknikal Malaysia
Melaka. Who had Doctoral
Degree in System Engineeering
Brunel University Uxbridge,
West London, United Kingdom.
His current research is focus on lean manufacturing,
industrial engineering, metrology, manufacturing process,
measurement uncertainty and agile manufacturing. He
became Malaysia Council of Engineering Deans since
2009-2018.

Dr. Andi Sudjana Putra
Dr. Andi Sudjana Putra is
presently a Lecturer in the
Faculty of Engineering, National
University of Singapore, having
been a research fellow since
2008. He graduated cum laude
in Mechanical Engineering from
Brawijaya University (Indonesia)
in 2001, specializing in energy conversion, with a thesis in
the optimum condition of combustion in laminar flow;
following which he worked for Newmont Mining Corp.
He obtained his Master of Technological Design in
Mechatronics from the National University of Singapore
(NUS) and Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) in
2004 with merit, with a thesis on microdispensing system
using the mass inertia of the fluid. In 2009, he obtained his
PhD degree from NUS in Electrical & Computer
Engineering, specializing in control and automation, with
a dissertation on piezoelectric actuation system using
external-sensing and self-sensing approaches.
He has published papers in various international journals
and conferences in relation to his works on controlled
motion and its application in medical devices, lithography,
and manufacturing. He has also published a book and
contributed various chapters about motion control and

array from WIPO.
Naris Charoenporn, M. Eng.
Naris Charoenporn is a
lecturer and Assistant
Professor at Department of
Industrial Engineering, Faculty
of Engineer, and Human
Factors in Engineering and
Ergonomics in Medical
Engineering Graduate
Program, Thammasat
University, Thailand. He now is the President of
Ergonomics Society of Thailand (EST). He graduated
Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng., Agriculture Engineering)
from Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University.
He received a research assistant funding from the human
factors and ergonomics laboratory, Department of
Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering,
Chulalongkorn University to work on industrial
workstation designs and completed the master degree
(M. Eng., Industrial Engineering) at Chulalongkorn
University. He continued his research work at the
laboratory for the joint research project between the
Department of Industrial Engineering, Chulalongkorn
University and CERGO international in Brussels, Belgium.
The joint research concerned with the exposure limits in
constraining climatic conditions for strenuous tasks. He

then moved to Thammsat University and has worked as a
lecturer in field of safety engineering, industrial work
improvement, human factors in engineering and
ergonomics for over 20 years. In 2001 he got a scholarship
from Ministry of University Affairs for joining research at
the Institute of Occupational Ergonomics (IOE), University
of Nottingham to perform research on changes in body
height and the creep behaviour of spine under different
loading. He has worked and performed several fields of
human factors and ergonomics such as manual material
handling (MMH), workstation design, hand tool design,
ergonomics risk assessment. He was Chair of Southeast
Asian Ergonomics Conference in 2008 and 2018.
He is a past president of Ergonomics Society of Thailand
between 2014-2018 and also a past president of SEANES
(Southeast Asian Network of Ergonomics Societies) He has
contributed his experiences and knowledge in human
factors and ergonomics to many companies, SCG, WD,
Essilor, Sony Device, HGST, PTT, PTT-OR, PTT-GC, Michelin,
Mitsubishi Electric Asia (Thailand), CP, Toshiba Carrier,
Shell, Toyota, Bridgestone, Inergy Automotive,
Shindengen, NEC, Pandora, Cargill, Glow, Shell, Marigot,
Monsanto, PepsiCo, and others via training, risk
assessment, ergonomics best practice awards and
consults. Presently, he collaborates with ergonomics
practitioners and ergonomics national network in
Thailand to write several Ergonomics Standards for Thai
Industrial Standard Institute (TISI), Ministry of Industry.

Oyong Novareza, Ph.D. is a
Head of Department in
Industrial Engineering
Universitas Brawijaya. Who
had Doctoral Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
University of Wollongong,
Australia.
He is conducted research in reliability and quality in
Manufacturing System. He had created various published
papers such as “Tribological performance of aqueous
copolymer lubricant in loaded contact with coated film”,
“Friction and anti-wear property of aqueous tri-block
copolymer solutions in metal forming”,”Tribological
