1 Omfattning och tillämpning
This is a standard for general structural steel. It
includes material grades with a yield strength of
220, 235, 250, 275, 280, 295, 335, 355, 360,
370, 380, 390, 420, 450, 460, 470, 490, 540,
580, 640, 690, 950, 1150, and 1200 N/mm2.
Detta är en standard för allmänt konstruktions-

After testing, the test piece must not show any sign of flaking at a distance greater than 7 mm from the lengthwise edges. Any cracks in the coating are no cause for rejection.

2.9 Bendability 2.9 Bockbarhet
Any bending test shall be carried out in
accordance with method 3 in STD 1018,412 with
a bending angle of 90°. If failure occurs or the
test sample shows cracks, rolling defects or other
defects expected to decrease the use of the
plate/sheet, the test is not approved. Insignificant
defects shall not be taken into account.

The composition of steel has been chosen so
that under normal welding conditions it will not
tend to form hot cracks as the weld solidifies (so-
called hot cracks). Hot cracks may also form as
a result of excessive welding stresses caused by
incorrect design or poor welding work.
Stålets sammansättning är så avpassad att den
under normala svetsningsbetingelser ej ska med-
verka till sprickbildning i en svets i samband med
dess stelnande (s.k. varmsprickor). Varmsprickor
kan likväl uppkomma om svetsspänningarna på

With the exception of the grade VSS690+QT, the
steel can be welded without preheating under
normal welding conditions, even with
considerable material thickness without the risk
of crack formation in the transformation zone
next to the weld (so-called hardening cracks).

The low risk of hot-crack formation enables a
wide assortment of filler metals to be used for
welding.

3.2.4 Deep-penetration welding 3.2.4 Svetsning med stor inträngning
The information given in section 3.2 is largely
applicable also at deep-penetration welding.
However, since a considerable amount of the
parent metal will melt during deep-penetration
welding and during certain types of automatic
welding and similar welding processes, it should
be noted that there is risk of hot cracks forming
in the weld.
I avsnitt 3.2 ovan givna upplysningar är i stort

betydande uppsmältningen av grundmaterialet

3.3 Aluminium surface 3.3 Aluminiumyta
The hot-dip coated sheet is normally supplied without subsequent rolling of the surface. When high demands are placed on the surface finish, the sheet can be ordered in a skin-passed state, which means that the aluminium coated sheeting has been subjected to light cold rolling.

designation, preceded by the text “STEEL” and
followed by the designation of this standard. See
