October Meeting The October meeting will be held Monday, October 15, 7:00 pm: Chisago County Government Center. Note there are 5 Mondays this month so the meeting is mid-month. The program is by Bob Lyksett from Hudson, Wisc., and Bob’s presentation will be on “Sports Photography.” He shoots many of the Hudson High School games, as well as takes “sports portraits” of high school athletes. Even if this is something you don’t see yourself doing, the details of how Bob deals with lighting, shutter speeds, ISO, etc. pertains to all photography. You can see his work here: https:// www.boblyksettphotography.com You can also see Bob is an excellent photographer of other subjects. The photo theme for October is “Photo Processing.” Submit an unedited copy of your photo as it came out of the camera along with the processed final one. So you will have 4 photos in the folder—two unprocessed and two processed. *You don’t have to have anything but your name with the photo as we will be having to number them to get them in the right order. *File size 1MB or less. *Deadline is midnight Sunday, October19. Fall Photo Day A big thank you to all of the club members who helped out on the big event. We got a lot of comments on how well things were organized; and, more important, how much fun people had. We really got lucky with the weather also. Special thanks to our presenters: Michelle Terrell, Peggy Boike, Shirley Boyer, myself?, and to Tom Dickhudt, who led two fun hikes. And, this event couldn’t come off without the work Nancy Crombie and Deb Fautsch do. They are simply amazing in setting up registration and coordinating what needs to be done!

Pioneer Village Photo ShootThe club has scheduled a fun photo shoot on Sunday, October 21 at the Little Log House Pioneer Village in Hastings. This place is an amazing collection of old buildings, cars, machines, memorabilia, etc. of an earlier America. It is a photographer’s delight, and some of us went there several years ago at the invite of Western Wisconsin Photo Club. We

can meet to carpool around 1:00 and will finalize plans at the October meeting. We have invited Western Wisconsin PC to join us, and we will all have a run of the place from 2:00-5:00.

Photo ShowsOur club currently has two photo shows. One is at the Chamber of Commerce office in Lindstrom. This month’s exhibit is the third of a series and the photos capture the beauty of our area’s lakes and rivers. Thanks to Jim St. Onge for organizing this show. The other exhibit is at Hardwood Creek Library in Forest Lake where the club has 20 photos on display on the library’s gallery wall. Stop by and support the club’s members by viewing these shows.
