Rabbi Shalom Kupperman was born in 1963 in the Soviet Union. To the outside his home was academic and cultured with books on every subject covering the walls. In secret they were observant and dedicated Jews who maintained a fully kosher home in spite of the daily danger of discovery by the communist authorities.

The Kuppermans made Aliyah to Israel in 1973. In 1984 Rabbi Shalom received his Rabbinical Ordination from the Chief Rabbis of Jerusalem, Rabbi Yitzchak Kolitz and Rabbi Shalom Mashash and then spent time in the army rabbinate. Rabbi Kupperman has been a Rabbi in Santiago (Chile), Edmonton, (Alberta Canada), Gibraltar, and in 2005 became the rabbi of Etz Chaim Synagogue in Leeds, England. In 2011 he completed his MA in Psychotherapy & Counsellin from the University of Leeds.
