Staying Present in the PresencePart 11
Ephesians 2:4-7 (NIV)4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with
Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been
saved.
Ephesians 2:4-7 (NIV)6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in
Christ Jesus.
Matthew 5:7 (NIV)7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be
shown mercy.
John 5:1-9 (NIV)1 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem
for a feast of the Jews. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and
which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.
John 5:1-9 (NIV)
. 3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie--the blind, the lame, the
paralyzed. 4 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had
been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well?"
John 5:1-9 (NIV)7 "Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to
help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me." 8 Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and
walk." 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on
which this took place was a Sabbath,
1. Look for what the Father is doing.
John 5:19 (NIV)19 Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the
truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son
also does.
2. Help the hurting.
Proverbs 3:27 (MSG)27 Never walk away from someone who
deserves help; your hand is God's hand for that person.
3. When you give mercy, you receive mercy.
Matthew 5:7 (NIV)
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Psalm 136:1-9 (NKJV)1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever. 2 Oh, give thanks to the God of gods! For His
mercy endures forever. 3 Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords! For His
mercy endures forever:
Psalm 136:1-9 (NKJV)4 To Him who alone does great wonders, For
His mercy endures forever; 5 To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,
For His mercy endures forever; 6 To Him who laid out the earth above the waters, For His mercy endures forever;
Psalm 136:1-9 (NKJV)7 To Him who made great lights, For His mercy
endures forever-- 8 The sun to rule by day, For His mercy
endures forever; 9 The moon and stars to rule by night, For
His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 136:23-26 (NKJV)23 Who remembered us in our lowly state, For
His mercy endures forever; 24 And rescued us from our enemies, For His
mercy endures forever; 25 Who gives food to all flesh, For His mercy
endures forever. 26 Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For
His mercy endures forever.
