Det r utgivarens frhoppning attrsboken kommer till anvndning, svl inom politik och frvaltning som inom skolor och massmedia samtbland den breda allmnheten.

rsboken ges ut av lands statistikoch utredningsbyr (SUB), en fristende institution varshuvuduppgifter r att verka som lands officiella statistikmyndighet samt bedriva forsknings- ochutredningsverksamhet. Preface

The Statistical Yearbook of land is a work of reference, the purpose of which is to provide comprehensiveinformation about the social and economic conditions in land. It has been published since 1979 and isbilingual (Swedish and English) since 1998.

The yearbook is compiled and published by Statistics and Research land (SUB), which is an independentpublic organization. Its main task is to function as the official statistics authority of the land Islands and toconduct qualified research. SUB produces statistics in several fields: population, housing, construction,consumer price index, wages and salaries, national accounts, tourism, education etc. More statistics producedby SUB can be found at the website www.asub.ax. In this years edition, some tables have been renewedand a couple of new figures have been added.
