The mixing element chains are composed of axially twisted or tilted elements arranged in sequence and in opposite directions. This causes the volume flow, depending on the mixing element, to be divided again resulting in an increased division, depending on the number of elements used. Apart from turbulent flows generated with low viscosities and high flow velocities, the increased division and thus a high mixing quality are reached also with laminar flows. The specification of the L/D ratio of a mixing element and thus the length of the mixing element chain thereby depends on the application, the available package space and other project-specific marginal conditions such as pressure drop and required mixing quality. The design and flexible manufacturing of the mixing elements by STRIKO permit use of a large variety of materials. Mixing elements of the Helical type are manufactured up to DN125; larger nominal diameters are equipped with elements of the K-Helical type. Mixing elements of the Helical type are manufactured up to DN125; larger nominal diameters are equipped with elements of the K-Helical type. A static mixer equipped with mixing elements of the Helical / K-Helical type is superbly suited for the homogeneous merging of media with turbulent and laminar flow. The static Mixer must be appropriately dimensioned for any application; this is done by close consultation with the customer, always specifically for the individual scenario because the range of application of the Helical / K-Helical is quite large.
