Since its founding in 1974, Hatfi eld has implemented over3,000 projects for private and public sector clients throughout the world, including Asia, Africa, Europe, and North and South America.

In Canada, our head offi ce is in North Vancouver. We have company offi ces in Fort McMurray and Calgary (Canada), Indonesia and Laos (Asia) and Botswana (Africa), and maintain business partners in Thailand and Chile. In addition to our international scope of activities, we are committed to establishing a strong local presence through joint-venture partnerships. Our presence at the local level allows us to respond effectively to specifi c project needs and client expectations, build capacity and expertise in host communities, and enhanceproject success.

LARGE-SCALE PROJECT EXPERTISE

Hatfield has managed large-scale projects in over 40 countriesin conjunction with local and international partners. We specialize in environmental impact assessments (EIA), environmental monitoring and management, aquatic ecology, water resources management, wildlife and terrestrial ecology, GIS and remote-sensing, and environmental information systems. In Alberta, our capabilities are demonstrated though our management of the Joint Oil Sands Monitoring Program (JOSM), formerly the Regional Aquatics Monitoring Program (RAMP). For more than 10 years, Hatfi eld has supported multiple stakeholders to achieve a holistic understanding of potential effects of oil sands development on aquatic ecosystems.

Fisheries and aquatic environmental studies have been core services provided

by Hatfi eld since our inception in 1974. Fisheries and aquatic ecology projects

have been carried out for public and private sector clients throughout

North America, and around the world. We utilize remote sensing, geographic

information systems (GIS) and environmental information systems to

complement traditional environmental services.

Our core expertise is environmental monitoring and assessment, particularly

the design and deployment of environmental evaluation and monitoring

programs for aquatic environments. We perform assessment and monitoring

Hatfi eld designs, develops and maintains on-line environmental information

management systems. The detailed integration of information technology

expertise with environmental science results in the design of practical, useful

environmental data, and conduct training and capacity development programs.

Hatfi eld has expertise conducting a range of biodiversity assessments and

Hatfi eld Consultants owns and operates a wide range of specialized equipment for sample collection and analysis. In support of our fi eld programs, which are often implemented in remote and logistically challenging areas, we have developed and maintain a comprehensive array of equipment and protocols to ensure cost-effective and safe data collection.

In addition, we maintain an extensive library of resource materials acquired over the last 40 years, including many documents that are not readily available elsewhere.

OUR OFFICES – ALBERTAHatfi eld established an offi ce in Fort McMurray in 2003 and

in Calgary in 2010 in order to serve our growing client base in Alberta. We

INDONESIAHatfi eld has maintained a continuous presence in Southeast Asia since establishing PT Hatfi eld Indonesia in 1990. Through an extensive network of local and

international technical experts, PT Hatfi eld Indonesia provides environmental and geomatics services to Indonesian and multinational companies in the oil

and gas, mining, forestry, petrochemical, pulp and paper, energy, and fi sheries and aquaculture sectors. International fi nance institutions, government agencies,

and international organizations contract PT Hatfi eld Indonesia to manage environmental and natural resource projects throughout Southeast Asia. Our offi ce is

ISO 9001 quality certifi ed.

BOTSWANAIn 2010, Hatfield opened an office in Gaborone, Botswana to build on over

six years of successful work in eastern and southern Africa. Hatfield Africa

provides a range of environmental assessment, management and monitoring

services. In addition Hatfield has extensive experience in environmental

information management, GIS and remote sensing systems. Hatfield Africa

offers a full suite of environmental services and access to a team of multi-

disciplinary specialists provided by other Hatfi eld offi ces.

LAOSIn 2011, Hatfield opened its Mekong office in Vientiane, Laos to better

experience working with hydropower, mining and other natural resource

OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITYOver the last 40 years, Hatfi eld has established a reputation for delivering high quality and cost effective solutions to our clients’ needs. We are certifi ed in ISO 9001: 2008 requirements. An ISO 9001 based Quality Management System is integral to this success. In accordance with this certifi cation, we apply a complete set of Quality Management System Procedures to all project tasks and deliverables.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN

Hatfield has a Health and Safety Plan that meets or exceeds standards for our industry.

We have continually expanded and refined corporate procedures forHealth and Safety Management (HSM) to provide all employeesa safe and healthy work environment. Hatfield has successfullypassed audits using the ENFORM process for Provincial Certificatesof Recognition (COR); we currently have CORs forBritish Columbia and Alberta.

We have developed and implemented Standard OperatingProcedures (SOPs) for our extensive field programs in Canadaand around the world.

Our Quality Management Plan (QMP) is divided into eight sections, which correspond to the Quality Management System sections of ISO 9001: 2008. The QMP defines our personnel’s levels of authority, inter-relationships, and responsibilities. It also provides procedures or references for all Quality Management System activities to ensure compliance with the standard’s requirements.

Internally, the QMP guides our employees through the various requirements of the ISO 9001 framework to ensure client satisfaction, foster continuous improvement, and promote an empowered work force.

OUR QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN

Externally, the QMP is used to familiarize our clients and representatives of other organizations with our Quality Management System. It describes the control of records and documents that have been implemented to ensure the integrity of our Quality Management System and its sustained focus on client satisfaction and continuous improvement.

We have also successfully developed and implemented Environmental Quality Management Plans (EQMPs) for large, complex, multi-year, linear development projects, including the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement Project, Pitt River Bridge Project and Port Mann/Highway 1 Project in British Columbia, Canada.

AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CORPORATE SOCIAL AND ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITYOur commitment to corporate and ethical responsibility was recognized at the Canadian Awards for International Cooperation where Hatfi eld Consultants received the Nexen Award for Excellence in Corporate Social and Ethical Responsibility. This award, presented by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Association of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), recognizes our integration of social and ethical issues and concerns in business practices.

LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR’S AWARD FOR ENGINEERING EXCELLENCEOur client, Hatch Mott MacDonald, was awarded the Award for Engineering Excellence for the Sea-to-Sky Highway

Improvement. As a Principal Contractor on this project, Hatfi eld was responsible for environmental management and quality assurance. The Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement constituted a major upgrade to the safety, capacity and

reliability of Highway 99 between West Vancouver and Whistler, B.C.

MARK-DRAKE AWARD IN RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNICATING PRIVATE SECTOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ISSUESHatfi eld Consultants received the Mark-Drake Award in Recognition of Excellence in Communicating Private Sector Contributions to International Cooperation Issues. The Award recognized our important work in addressing the residual environmental impacts of Agent Orange herbicide used during the Vietnam War. Our work in Agent Orange contamination is recognized by the international community as the most comprehensive investigation of dioxin contamination ever undertaken in Vietnam.

AWARDS

2014 DIGITAL GLOBE “BEST DEAL OF 2013”Hatfi eld Consultants received an award for ‘Best Deal’ of 2013 from Digital Globe at their Annual Partner Conference. The deal in question was a $225,000 sale of high-resolution 50 cm ortho-rectifi ed, color balanced and mosaicked satellite imagery, delivered as GeoTIFF 8bit tiles, which was ultilised during a Pre-feasibility Study (PFS) for a major railway and port in Mozambique. The data was used in a number of ways, including feature extraction, cartography, conceptual design development and planning. The total area was 17,000 km2, and included exclusively new collections, acquired in a three-month window between January and April 2013.
