Statement of Purpose
My name is ADIL ABDULWAHHAB GHIDAN AL-AZZAWI. I was born in
1978 in Iraq. I am married and I live in Diyala, Baquba, Iraq. In 2001-2002 I finished my
B.Sc. in “Software Engineering”, University of Baghdad, Iraq and in 2002-2003 in I
finished my High Diploma in “Software Engineering”, in Iraqi Commission for
Computers and Informatics (ICCI)-Iraq, and in 2004-2005, I finished my M.Sc. in
“Computer Science” in Iraqi Commission for Computers and Informatics (ICCI)-Iraq.
Due to the recent technological developments and progress that recently occurred in
all fields of life, the Ph.D. candidate would like to pursue such lines of development both in
his courses and in his would be dissertation.
What motivates the candidate to further his study is the deteriorated situation
under which Iraq has passed during the last three decades. Therefore, his main reason of
reading for a higher degree is to cope with the new development occurring in all walks of
life round the world.
I worked as lecturer in Computer Science Department, College of Science Diyala
University. My interest in Computer Science was initiated by my readings in this field. I
seek to pursue this field for my ambition to specialize in a highly professional and
attractive field. My plans for my career have set this major at the top of my priorities. I am
sure your school is the place where my academic dreams will come true. Computer science
professionals are very scarce in Iraq. This area of study should make me one of those who
contribute to filling that professional gap in the Iraq universities with the expertise I hope
to achieve at your university, I would like to mention here that I've published over 12
research inside and outside Iraq, including two in the IEEE, that is, through participation
in two conferences in the United Kingdom (UK) in University of Liverpool , also has an
English language test TOFEL-ITP (447) and certificate in the international computer
driving ic3 with score (851.6)
The knowledge and experience, I will get from my Ph.D. Courses will definitely
contribute in pushing the work of computer at my college and university forward. and
when they graduate and received his Ph.D. I hope to return to Iraq and go back to running
a business at the University in the Department of Computer Science and I carry with me all
that I have learned from experience through the study period in the USA.
My hope is that your consideration of my file will render a favorable decision. I am
confident a decision like that will definitely change my life and put me on the verge of a
bright future of which I hope your school will be the main thrust.
