S.R. 46 Pavement Replacement Purpose

Provide safe facility for roadway users and pedestrians

Address deteriorated roadway and sidewalk condition

Need Age and deteriorated condition of existing:

Curbs Sidewalks Pavement along State Road (S.R.) 46 through

Spencer Storm sewer system overloading Flooding occurring during significant rain events

S.R. 46 Pavement Replacement Project Description

Reconstruct S.R. 46 from S.R. 67/U.S. 231 west 1.1 miles to east of Fairview Ave.

Replace pavement, curbs, sidewalks, storm sewers and lighting

No horizontal alignment changes, slight vertical alignment changes

Realign Vandalia Ave.

S.R. 46 Pavement Replacement Project Description cont.

12-foot travel lanes, 14-foot two-way left turn lane, curb and gutter, and 6-foot sidewalk

Organize traffic flow (driveways and approaches)

Sidewalks meeting Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements

Replace storm sewers to improved drainage

Replace traffic signals at S.R. 46/Main and S.R. 46/Fletcher Ave.

Decorative street lighting in partnership with the Town of Spencer
