Thursday, May 21, 2015 To all Medicaid Clerks and Coordinators; Spring is here and the end of the school year is quickly upon us. For those of you who do not work over the summer, you enjoy a reprieve from all things Medicaid. For those of you who will toil over the summer months, you will likely see your Field Reps during those months and they will certainly be available to answer questions and check eligibility. A few items of interest: HP once again issued an upgrade to the VT HP Provider Electronic Solutions

(PES) software. Please check with your Field Rep to update to version 2.9 (don’t forget to make a backup of your database before upgrading).

Worksheet A was due Wednesday, May 13th. Please make sure you’ve billed all State Placed Student’s claims through March 31st by Thursday, June 4th, in order to make the June 12th RA.

It is unlikely that we will change any forms, other than to update the formulas in the LOCs. We will have new LOCs out to you by the first week of June.

Starting with all claims with date of service of 10/1/2015 and after, ICD-10 will replace ICD-9 codes. While the Medicaid Provider web site offers information on how to test your ICD-10 claims, AoE recommends Medicaid Clerks and Coordinators don’t worry about testing. The only change for us is the code we enter into the HP System on Hdr 2 and that you pull down from the menu and select 10 for the type of diagnosis code, rather than the 9 you might have selected in the past. As usual, Case Managers and Doctors should be assigning diagnosis, but should you need to find a code based on that diagnosis, we will endeavor to assist. We will post the following list on our website, and also the existing list of codes as found in the Medicaid manual and all the corresponding ICD-10 codes: http://education.vermont.gov/special-ed-finance-and-medicaid/medicaid-resources/ For a complete list of code conversions go to: https://www.aapc.com/icd-10/codes/
