12. Brief Description: One-story, three-bay, brick masonry center-aisle church with Gothic Revival influence, built 1910. Cross-gable roof covered with asphalt shingles, with single-light fixed sash roundels in gable ends. Facade features symmetrical square towers; one of two stories with a bell cast roof and one of three stories with a polygonal spire. Windows are single-light, fixed sash replacements set in Gothic-arched reveals. Entrance set in semi-circular arched reveal with a single-ligth, double-door
30. Historical Information: The Burns Chapel served as the city's only Methodist Episcopal church until the congregation relocated to a larger building on Molly Barr Road in the middle 1970s. Afterward, it was converted for office use; in the 1990s the building was acquired by author John Grisham for use as his Oxford offices.

12. Brief Description: Two-story, seven-bay, brick masonry residential hotel, built ca. 1920. Gable and hip roof covered with asphalt shingles, with box cornice, molded frieze and closed gable ends. Exterior walls covered with stucco veneer scored in imitation of stone blocks. Windows are 2/2 double-hung sashes, some in pairs. Four storefronts have (1000) obscured transoms, single-light display windows, stone bulkheads and a four-light door; (1002) obscured transoms, single-light replacement fixed
30. Historical Information: Originally built as a small hotel in ca. 1920, according to Sanborn map information, the building was later used as a residential hotel and then for apartments before being converted solely for restaurant and retail uses in ca. 1990.

12. Brief Description: One-story, four-bay, brick veneered office building with Tudor Revival influence, built ca. 1930. Flat roof covered with built-up asphalt roofing, with a flat parapet, stone coping and stone cornice. Windows are 6/6 double-hng sashes and one 10/10 double-hung sash flanked by 6/6 double-hung sashes. Entrance has a single-light, multi-panel door in a Tudor-arched reveal, and a surround of radiating vussoirs with a shielf motif and foliation.
30. Historical Information: Sanborn maps indicate the construction of this building between 1925 and 1948; it was replaced by a new exchange building in ca. 1970 and converted to private office use. Served as the law office of author John Grisham during the 1980s and early 1990s.

12. Brief Description: Two-story, seven bay, frame I-house with Greek Revival influence, built ca. 1848. Side gable roof covered with asphalt shingles, with box cornice and dentil frize. Exterior walls covered with stucco scored in imitation of stone blocks. Two-story, partial-width pedimented portico supported by paired paneled box columns. Entrance has a six-panel door topped with a four-light transom and flanked by full-length, four-light sidelights.
30. Historical Information: Suggested in local histories to have been built as a private residence, the Sanborn maps show its conversion for use as a hotel as early as 1885, first as the McKie House, and later as the Anderson House (1890), the Oxford House (1905, 1910), and the Commercial Hotel (1916). The building has apparently been used for apartments since the ca. 1920s.

12. Brief Description: One-story, three-bay, frame double-pile cottage with Minimalist Traditional influence, built ca. 1940. Gable roof covered with asphalt shingles, with box cornice and gable dormer. Exterior walls covered with asbestos siding. Windows are a "picture" window of 4/4 double-hung sashes flanking a single fixed light, and 6/6 double-hung sashes. One-bay, undercut porch supported by wrought iron posts. Entrance contains a four-light, four-panel door.

Gable roof covered with asphalt shingles, with box cornice. Wxterior walls covered with board and batten and aluminum siding. Windows are replacement 2/2 metal frame sashes. Full-width, hip roof porch supported by turned posts on brick bases. Entrances contain a single-light, three-panel door topped with a two-light transom, and a Craftsman three-light door.
