DAUPHIN COUNTY
No. 210STATE GAME LANDS
5/15/2012SPORTSMEN'S RECREATION MAP
State Game Land (SGL) 210 is situated wholly in Dauphin County within the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Southeast Region. It is 11,124 acres in size and is nearly bounded on all sides by either DCNR lands or Forest Game cooperative lands. This makes SGL 210 a very desirable recreational destination for hunters and others.
Game land 210 is in Wildlife Management Unit 4C and is home to a road open to disabled hunters and a snowmobile trail. Only 4 maintained parking lots serve the game land but access is augmented by numerous pull offs and the adjacent DCNR lands that include several additional lots.
The property is located on a rolling plateau situated between Broad Mountain and Peter's Mountain. Elevation ranges from 1,650 feet on the eastern part of the game land to 800 feet along the western edge.
SGL 210 is located in Wildlife Management Unit 4C and is a popular destination with big game hunters. This game land provides good opportunities for hunting woodland wildlife, such as deer, bear, turkey, coyotes, grouse, and squirrels, and some limited opportunities for grassland species, such as rabbits. The entire length of Greenland Road bisects the game land from east to west and is open to horseback riding, mountain biking, and from January 15th thru March 31st is designated as a snowmobile trail. In addition an alternative trail that junctions with the Greenland Road may be ridden by snowmobile riders that links up with Luke's Trail in the northwestern portion of the tract and continues onto the Haldeman tract of the Weiser State Forest. There are many opportunities for hiking on the more than 26 miles of roads and trails found on the property. Birdwatching is a popular activity on SGL 210, as is cross-country skiing.
