Sayles, principal, announced today. Kvcry senior is required to teach twenty weeks under supervision, Pro- fessor Sayles stated. College life is very queer, ruin, tutu, luni " thus the freshmen will sing this mi ruing as they march around the auditorium with bowed heads as a clmax to the regulations of the sophomores which 193b have obeyed during this week. Freshman women in light dresses and black cotton stock- ings, and freshman men with yellow ties and shirt-sleeves in- stead of the conventional coats and sweaters, have been appar- ent on the campus. Attempts by members of the sophomore class to force certain disobedient 'ear- lings to doff their sweaters and coats have resulted in scuffles in dark corners and corridors, from which freshmen and sophomores condition. " Cubs" To Receive Instructions In Newspaper Elements;

To Meet Weekly

One hundred ten students have en­rolled in the journalism classes for N E W S "cubs", Alvina Lewis, '33, editor-in-chief, announced today, Edi-torial "cubs" will be in charge of Laura Styn, '33, associate managing editor, and Bernard Kerbel, '33, man­aging editor. Tryouts for the business staff will work under Mary Doherty, '33, finance manager, and Jean Craig-mile, '34, advertising manager.

The group will be divided into sec­tions which will meet once a week for instruction and discussion. And addi­tional freshmen who want to enroll in the "cub" class may do so by com­municating with Miss Styn.

The fundamentals of journalism, the styles used by the NEWS, methods of gathering news, and preparing copy, and general information concerning N E W S work will be given the "cub" classes in the first semester. During the second semester they will receive regular assignments to "cover" for

One thousand copies of the program of the activities of the Young Wo­men's Christian association will he dis­tributed in assembly today, Laura Styn, '33, president, announced.

The printed folder includes the names of the officers and committee chairmen for the coming year, the purpose of the organization, and the activities which have been planned for the first semester. This is the first time that a program of this kind ha been distributed by the association, Miss Styn said.

The Y. W. C. A. cabinet has planned to conduct most of its meet­ings on Tuesdays. A series of six discussions led by members of the faculty, will be conducted on Tuesday afternoons at 4:15 o'clock in the

The alumni players will present two one-act plays in the auditorium of Page hall, Wednesday night, Oc­tober 19, Olga Hainpcl Briggs, '26, director, announced today. The program will include "The Dutch­ess Says Her Prayers ," by Mary K. Canlietd, and " Over tones ," by Alice Gerstenberg.
