The device should be used exclusively with original accessories.Inthecaseoftechnicaldefects,thedevicemust be returned to the manufacturer who will perform the appropriate repairs. The starQi Pen is an electronically operated device.Note relevant information that could affect the operation of electronic equipment in your area. The function ofthe device itself may be impaired by strong interference caused by powerful electric motors, static dischargeand other electronic devices.This can cause a rangeofproblemse.g.problemswithdatatransmissionuptomalfunctions.Insomecasesthiscanleadtototalfailureof the device. If this is the case, eliminate potentialsourcesofinterference.Thenconnecttheunitforabout5seconds to the includedACadapter (5VDC/1A)(thepowersupplymustbeconnectedtothemainssupply).Thisinitiatesadevicereset(duringareset,thepenwillflashbriefly).Youcan thenuse thedevicenormally. Iffurther malfunctions are observed and the previously mentionedstepsdonotfixtheproblem,thedevicemustbe taken out of service and sent to the service centre for atechnicalreview.

Malfunctions

Warning: Never point the tip of the starQi Pen directly in theeyes.Insomecasestheinfraredlight(IRdiode)atthetipcancausedamagetotheeyes.

Note:Thedevicedoesnotemitionizingradiation.Thisradiationcanaffectordamagetheskinandothertissues.In rare cases, skin irritation can occur during or afterapplicationofstarQiPen.Theseusuallydisappearafter23days.Iftheuserhaspainimmunity(e.g.neuropathy)atthemeasurementorregulationpoints,theapplicationshouldtakeplaceundermedicalsupervision.Thesameapplies to butterfly childrenwho suffer froma geneticskindisease.

Adheretotheinstructionsofuse.Thedevicemayonlybe applied to the intended skin regions and is not to be misused.

Useonlyoriginalaccessories.Do not dispose of the device in a fire or expose theunittotemperaturesabove80°celsius.ThestarQiPenmust not be disposed of with normal household waste! Please dispose of the starQi Pen properly in hazardous wastereceptacles.YoucanalsoreturnthestarQiPentoourservicecentreatanytime,whowilldisposeofit.The starQi Pen is 100% recyclable.We separate thewaste properly and provide for the conservation of raw materials.

StarQi Tip: A WiFi connection is faster compared to a mobiledataconnectionandthecostsareusuallylower.IfbothWiFiandmobiledataconnectionsareavailable,please choose the WiFi connection over the data connection.

Purpose and effect

The starQi Pen is one of the most advanced active acupuncture stimulators.Using a special Infrared (IR)lightemitting diode, selected acupuncture points andmeridiansarestimulated.Itiscontrolledviaaneasytouseapponyoursmartphoneortablet.

Measurement and Analysis

SpecificmeridianpointsarestimulatedusingIRpulseswithasetenergylevel.Atthesametime,thesequantitiesof energy are controlled by the user until there is a stimulustothesubject,shownbyreachingathreshold(warmsensation).Theevaluationof themeasurementresultsvia theappcanshowa lackofenergy,excessenergyorblockagesoftheindividualmeridians.

Energy Regulation

Dependingontheanalysis,individualbiologicallyactivepoints can be targeted and stimulated using the starQi Peninregulationmode.Thisleadstostimulationofthestimuluspathways,therebymakingdissolvingblockagesandregulationpossible.

FullychargethestarQiPenbeforefirstuse(thebatteryis shipped with a partial charge, and must be fullycharged before use). Once you connect the pen tothecharger,thepenwillturnonandstartcharging.Tospeedupthechargingprocess,turnonthestarQiPenbyholdingdowntheactionkeyforabout5seconds.TheQuickchargeprocessisindicatedbyaflashingyellowlight.OncethestarQiPenischarged(thepenwillflashgreen),youcandisconnectitfromthecharger.Thepenisnowreadyforuse.WhilethestarQiPenisinuseorcharging,theoutershellmaybecomeheated.

Afterthefirstfullcharge,itispossibletousethedevicewiththepoweradapter,aswellasthebattery.ThestateofchargeofthebatteryisdeterminedbythestarQiApp,evaluatedanddisplayedgraphically.Theappprovidesinformation on the charging status and tells you whenthestarQiPenneedstobecharged.

First Use

AfteryouhavefullychargedthestarQiPen,itisreadyforuse.InstallthestarQiApponyoursmartphoneand/ortabletyoucanfindthisbysearchingfor„starQi“intheAndroidPlayStore.

Press the action key on the starQi Pen If the pen is turnedon,thependisplaysaturquoiselight.ToturnoffthestarQiPen,press theactionkeyagain forat least5 seconds.Nowstart theappon your smartphoneortablet.

Youarenowattheuserloginscreen.

IfyouarenotyetaregisteredStarQiuser,pleasefillouttheinitialandonetimeregistrationform.Afterlaunchingthe app you will see a welcome screen where you can choosetologin(alreadyregisteredusers)ortoregisterasanewuser.Pleaseclickon„Registernewuser“.

Asausername,pleaseprovideoneofyouractiveemailaddresses.Youarefreetochooseyourownpassword.

StarQi Tip: We recommend a minimum password length ofeightcharacters.

Installing the starQi App

After registering you will receive an email which will simultaneouslyconfirmandactivateyouruseraccount.Sendingtheconfirmationemailmaytakeuptoanhour.Pleasealsocheckyourspamfolder.

When registering, you will be asked for informationaboutyourself,suchasyourbirthday,height,weightandgender.Thisdataisnecessaryforthecorrectevaluationofyourresults.Pleaseentertherequireddata,completeand correct. Only then can a correct evaluation,regulationandrecommendationcanbeguaranteed.

The data you provide will be with dealt with utmost care andnotgiventothirdparties.

Ifyoudon’treceiveanemailfromus,pleasecontactusatoffice@starqi.com.

Afteractivatingyouremailaddress(Username)youcanloginwithyourpreviouslychosenpassword.

Please note that an active data connection is required to usethestarQiApp.

In the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen you have the following choices:

ByclickingontheWikibutton,youcanaccessourWikipagewithusefulcontent.Byclickingontheuseradministrationbutton,youcanaccessyourpersonaldata.

The starQi App can be used free of charge in the followingconfigurations:

Basic: for one user, medical history, measurement,basic regulation, recommendations - starQi tip,medicinal herbs, nutrition (thermal effect), evaluation- starcharthistory,fire /waterdipole,starchart, fiveelements fullness/emptiness,Wiki - generalmeridiansandmedicinalherbs.

The following configurations provide an occasionallygreatlyenhancedfunctionalityandarethereforesubjectto charge:

Lifestyle:availableforupto5users,includestheBasicPackage plus Lifestyle regulation, Beauty regulation,recommendations - diets with grocery lists, minerals,proteins,vitamins,essentialoils,magneticapplication,evaluation - measurement values history, anabolic/catabolic history, energy average history, correlations-chakras,emotions/psyche,teeth,Wiki-essentialoils,foodlists,mineralsandvitamins.

Sport: available for up to 5 users, including theHealthPackageplusregulations-Sports,Competition,vertebralbody,triggerpoints.

Clicking the Wiki button gives you access to our Wiki withusefulcontent.Via the user management, you have access to yourpersonalinformation.

The information button can be found on almost every pageoftheapp.Clickthisbuttontogethelpfulinformationaboutthecurrentlydisplayedscreen.

In the main menu the current app version and charge stateofthestarQiPenaredisplayed.The app will remind you when you need to charge the pen.Whenabatterywarningappears,thepenstillhasapproximately 30% battery capacity. Critical batterystate occurs when there is approximately 10% of battery capacity available in which case the starQi Pen needs toberecharged.Ifthebatterycapacityfallsbelow10%,youcannotstartmeasuringorregulation.Ifyouconnectthecharger,youcancontinuetouseyourstarQiPenasnormalwithoutinterruption.

Health:availableforupto5users,includestheLifestylePackage plus regulations health, surface application,neurolymphatic points, neurovascular points, handreflexology,footreflexology,recommendations-salts,Asian medicine, evaluation - right/left deviation,measured values hyper/hypo function, blood sugarhistory, blood pressure/pulse history, correlations -muscles,musculature,joints,yinorgans,yangorgans,senseorgan,Wiki-nutritionaltablesandGlyxtables.

Professional:availableforupto500users,includingthe sport package plus regulations professional, earacupuncture,recommendations-homeopathicproducts,homeopathic meridian complexes, phytotherapeuticalMeridian complexes, evaluation - Kiviat diagram,correlations-headcavityandcranialnerves.

If Bluetooth is disabled on your smartphoneor tablet,youwillgetanotificationthatthestarQiAppwouldliketoactivateBluetooth.Pleaseconfirmthismessagewith„Yes“.OnceBluetooth isenabled,youcanstart lookingforastarQi Pen.Make sure that your starQi pen is turnedon. Then press the button „Search for Pen“. Selectyour starQi Pen. It is automatically connected aftertheBluetoothpairingcode0000(fourzeros)hasbeenenteredandconfirmed.

Immediately after the starQi Pen is connected to the app,themeasurementstarts.Thepenwill lightgreen.Followtheapp’sinstructionsduringthemeasurement.Thefirstmeasuringpointisshownonthescreen.PlacethetipofthepenstarQiloosely(donotpress)ontotheindicated point and press the action key on the starQi Pen. Once you feel an uncomfortable feeling of heatat the measurement point, stop the measurement bypressing the action key again. If you do not feel anyreactionandthemeasurementdoesnotstopitself,itisautomaticallystoppedafterashorttime.Repeatthisforallthepointsshown.

StarQi Tip: Press the action key to trigger the measurementofapointitshouldnotbeheldconstantly.Ifyoupresstheactionkeyforlongerthanfiveseconds,the starQi Pen turns off. You will find the descriptionforallotherfunctions,suchasregulation,correlations,statistics,productrecommendations,etc.,ontheWikiorintheapp.

Measuring

This device complies with part 15 of the FCCRules.Operationissubjecttothefollowingtwoconditions:1. This device may not cause harmful interference,

and 2. thisdevicemustacceptany interferencereceived,

including interference that may cause undesired operation.

ThestarQiPenisdesignedtobemaintenancefree.Ourservice centre can replace worn out batteries at your request.

Repairs or other modifications to the device or itsaccessories are to be carried out exclusively by the manufacturer. Please contact the general importer/supplierinrelationtothisorincasesofambiguity.

Check your system before each use for external damage. In the case of damaged electrical cables orhousing,discontinueuseimmediatelyand,ifnecessary,disconnect the device from the mains supply. Theinstrument and accessories should be put out of operation until the damage is repaired by the service centre.

Please give this product to third parties only with the original instructions!

ThestarQiPenand itsaccessories can, if necessary,be cleaned with a damp cloth and common household cleanersormildsurfacedisinfectants.Otherdisinfectionand cleaning procedures are not necessary for this device.

Do not use organic solvents or strong household detergent as these substances can damage the starQi Pen.

Repair and Maintenance

Cleaning and care

The starQi pen was developed in Austria and is packaged,manufactured,fullyassembledandtestedinAustria.TheproductionconformstotheISO9001qualitymanagementrating.However,ifyouhaveacomplaint,weregretthisincidentverymuchandaskthatyoucontactusimmediately.Wewish to assure you now that we will do everything in our power to resolve complaints as soon as possible and to yoursatisfaction.

ThestarQiPen,withproperhandling,hasawarrantyforaperiodof2yearsfromthedateofpurchase.The warranty covers the cost of any debugging of materialsandlabour.Transportcostsareattheriskandexpenseofthecustomer.

Demonstration models come with a warranty period not exceeding 12 months. The warranty period forrechargeable batteries and chargers is 6 months.The replacement of rechargeable batteries must be conductedbyourservicecentre.

StarQi GmbH parts which can be shown to be defective due to manufacturing or workmanship will be replaced in accordance with this guarantee. In this case, thisguarantee is not extended. Replacement parts shallbecome the property of starQi GmbH. Further claimsmadeagainstthisguarantee,inparticularthoserelatingtoconversion,reductionordamages,arenotjustified.

Guarantee

Excluded from the warranty are:

• Damages due to local conditions such as installation errors,fire,lightning,etc.

• Consequences of engaging third parties (e.g.openingthedevice)

• Devices where the manufacturer’s number or serial number has been removed, destroyed ormanipulated.

• Deviceswheremoisture and/or fracture indicatorshavebeenmanipulatedortriggered.

• All types of damaged caused by the device being droppedorbroken.

• Consequences caused by not following the instructions of use and damage caused by negligent treatmentorduetomisuseorabuse.

• Consequences caused by wear, wear parts,consumables or defects that only insignificantlyinterfere with the value or suitability for use of the device.

• Batteries,includingconsequentialdamagescausedby the use of defective or obsolete batteries and accumulators.

• Lamps and LEDs; free replacement is offered only within thefirst90days.The replacementmustbeperformedbyourservicedepartment.

• Devicesthatareusedcommercially.• Damages caused by abnormal operating conditions

such as tobacco smoke, evaporated edible oils,dust,andespeciallywaterorotherliquids.

• Damages due to return shipping in nonsecure transportpackaging.

Every request regarding guarantee or service made to StarQi GmbH requires proof of submission (in the interests of the customer). All equipment sent to usWITHOUTacompletedguarantee/servicecardcannotbeprocessedandassignedbyus.

For complaints, repairs or warranty claims, pleasecontactourservicecentredirectly.

The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and isnontransferable.

A fully completed proof of purchase (with manufacturer’s numberandserialnumber)isrequiredasproofforeveryguaranteeclaim.
