TEASER
EXT. ORBIT OF PLANET OSSUS / SPACE BATTLE - DAY
NARRATOR (O.S.)A Hero Triumphant! Despite mounting pressure from the Separatist Fleets, a force led by General Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, have managed to corner and defeat a contingent of Separatist Battle Cruisers! Our Heroes have boarded the main cruiser to rescue a group of Clone Troopers, pinned down after a failed sabotage attempt.
BOOM! An Acclamator I Republic Assault Frigate EXPLODES, splitting the majestic ship in half. Ships scream around it, both Republic ReConnaissance-170 starfighters and droidVulture fighters. Turbolaser fire from both sides rips through the void while smaller dogfights send fire spewing in all directions.
INT. PROVIDENCE-CLASS DESTROYER / HANGER - DAY
AHSOHKA TANO and ANAKIN SKYWALKER stand back to back in the hanger bay. Droids fire at them from all directions. Two Republic fighters are crashed off in the corner, on fire.
Across the hanger, a group of clone troopers huddle behind makeshift barricades under heavy fire. CAPTAIN REX fires his twin pistols at the droids.
AHSOKAMaster, I’m not sure if your plan is working.
ANAKINEverything is going according to plan, Snips!
AHSOKAWhat plan? The droids have us surrounded and our only way off this ship is on fire!
Anakin redirects a shot right back into a droid with his lightsaber. The droid explodes and falls over.
ANAKINPay attention, Ahsoka!
AHSOKAOver there, Master! The troopers!
Mark II droids are advancing on the barricade, arms raised as they pump blaster fire at the troopers. The troopers return fire, but it is ineffectual against the incoming horde.
ANAKINThey’re not going to last long unless we do something.
AHSOKARight behind you!
Ahsoka and Anakin dash across the deck deflecting shots from every angle. Anakin pulls ahead, running to clear the way. With a casual sweep he decapitates a Mark II and bisects another that was next to the first.
FROM THE UPPER DECK a BX-series commando droid aims down a sniper rifle scope. He has it pointed at the Jedi, and a aiming reticule swirls around and pinpoints Anakin’s head.
SHWOMP. He fires.
Anakin is too distracted to notice the sniper until it’s too late. He takes the shot in the shoulder and collapses back past the barricades. Captain Rex is instantly at his side, checking him.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)MASTER!
Ahsoka flips into the air over the barricades. She stands over Anakin’s limp form, deflecting incoming fire.
CAPTAIN REXHe’s all right, sir. A bad hit, but he’ll be fine.
AHSOKACaptain, where is your ship?
CAPTAIN REXAcross the hanger bay, sir.

Rex points across hanger bay. Over there in the corner, surrounded by droids, lies a crashed transport ship. It looks damaged, but serviceable.
CAPTAIN REX (CONT’D)These droids have us pinned down. We’re not going to make it past them.
AHSOKADon’t worry. We’ll get you out of here.
Anakin groans and leans up, clutching at his arm.
ANAKINProtect the troopers. I’m going to create a diversion.
AHSOKADon’t worry. I’ve got this one.
Ahsoka concentrates across the room on the crashed shuttle. Droids fire at her, but she uses her off hand lightsaber to deflect shots.
The shuttle begins to shift, comes loose, and slides across the hanger. It mows over Mark II droids, knocking them down and crushing them.
Ahsoka pulls it right up to the barricade. The trooper next to her taps something on his wrist and the ramp lowers.
Ahsoka leans down, lifts Anakin to his feet, and helps him into the shuttle. The hatch lowers and the shuttle takes off, leaving behind an entire hanger of droids firing at the them.
EXT. PROVIDENCE-CLASS DESTROYER - DAY
As the shuttle flies off, arcing out of the way of Turbolaserfire, the ship behind them EXPLODES into a ball of flame, cracking in half and sending debris in every direction.
INT. ESCAPE SHUTTLE - DAY
Anakin lays on a medical table with a medical droid working on his shoulder while Ahsoka stands over him looking worried.
ANAKINThat was some good work back there.
(beat)

(MORE)
You put yourself in harm’s way to protect others from danger while staying on mission. You’ve grown a lot since I met you.
AHSOKAThank you, Master.
Anakin reaches out with a hand and pats her shoulder. She turns away to fiddle with a console while he looks at her with a thoughtful expression.
EXT. ESCAPE SHUTTLE - DAY
The shuttle flies off and enters hyperspace. Behind them the battle rages, with the Republic forces mopping up the Separatist ships.

ANAKIN (CONT'D)
ACT 1
EXT. JEDI TEMPLE LANDING PAD - DAY
Anakin, his arm in a sling, PADME and Ahsoka walk to a transport vessel docked on the landing pad outside the Temple. OBI WAN is standing next to it overseeing some equipment being loaded onto the ship.
OBI WANAh, here you are. Are you prepared, Ahsoka?
AHSOKAAs much as I can be, Master. Meeting with the Separatist Senate Delegates is going to be a bit nerve wracking.
PADMEIt will be dangerous to cross into their space, but the success of our mission is vital to the ongoing peace effort.
ANAKIN(to Ahsoka)
You watch over her. Guard her with your life.
AHSOKANothing will hurt Padme. She’ll have me there to protect her.
(beat)Oh, and Master Obi Wan.
OBI WANLet’s go. We don’t want to be late.
Anakin takes a step back as Obi Wan walks up onto the shuttle. He waves with his uninjured arm.
ANAKINGood luck!
Ahsoka bounds up the ramp. She waves at Anakin before disappearing inside.
Padme walks over to Anakin and they share a brief moment.

PADMEAnakin, how dangerous is this going to be?
He pauses for a moment and watches the ship.
ANAKINVery. It’s important for her.
PADMEI know. Does she have any--
ANAKINNo. None.
He hugs her tight. She leans up and kisses him on the cheek. Their hands entwine, hers around his prosthetic.
INT. JEDI TRANSPORT SHIP MAIN - DAY
Ahsoka, Padme and Obi Wan sit inside the transport ship. Outside the stars stream by in hyperspace.
AHSOKAWhere is this meeting taking place, Master?
OBI WANRight inside Separatist space, on the planet Tibrin.
(beat)This is going to be very dangerous. We don’t know if it’s a trap.
PADMEWe have to assume it isn’t. If we go in wary and expecting something then the negotiations will go nowhere. This has to be built on trust.
(beat)I expect you two to behave, even if you are my guar--
There is a loud EXPLOSION from the front of the ship. Obi Wan rockets to his feet and runs to the cockpit.
PADME (CONT’D)What’s going on?

AHSOKAThat sounded like one of the drive controls going.
Obi Wan YELLS from the front of the ship, a cry of pain. There is a dull thump.
Ahsoka bolts to the cockpit.
INT. JEDI TRANSPORT SHIP COCKPIT - DAY
Ahsoka runs into the front of the ship. They’ve fallen out of hyperspace in front of a huge purple planet. One of the panels is on fire.
Obi Wan lays on the ground with his back against hull next to the door. Blood trickles down from a vicious gash on his temple.
AHSOKAMaster? Are you alright?
She gently shakes him. His eyes open but they are faded, distant. Padme runs into the cockpit.
PADMESabotage?
(she notices Obi Wan)Obi Wan! Is he alright?
AHSOKAI don’t know. Are there any medical kits on board?
PADMEI don’t kn---
There is another BOOM from the back of the ship. Pressure doors seal the cockpit.
PADME (CONT’D)If I hadn’t...
Ahsoka looks at the panels. They’re all black.
AHSOKAWhere are we? I don’t recognize that planet at all.
They stare at the planet, huge on the screen. Obi Wan’s eyes flutter and close.

EXT. PLANET KATARR SURFACE - DAY
The ship lies crashed on the planet, a long trench buried behind it. The ramp is down and Ahsoka and Padme stand at the base of it. Obi Wan is leaning against the ship.
A barren wasteland, shattered purple rocks make up the landscape. There’s no vegetation, and occasional ruins dot the wasteland.
Overhead dark clouds roil in a dark purple color to match the ground. Purple lighting occasionally strikes down to blow apart the landscape.
Ahsoka shivers, holding her arms around herself.
AHSOKAI can feel it... the Dark Side. It’s all around us. I’ve never felt anything like this before.
OBI WAN(thick)
Katarr.
AHSOKAI’ve never heard of...
A lightning bolt strikes nearby and Ahsoka jumps.
PADMEThis place must have been beautiful once.
AHSOKANot anymore.
(beat)Master?
Obi Wan slowly collapses to the ground against the shuttle. Padme offers a canteen to him which he sips lightly.
PADMEHe needs medical attention, Ahsoka. We need to find some way to contact a Republic ship.
She looks around at the landscape. Off in the distance is a huge structure looms over the landscape.
AHSOKAOver there, in the distance. There is a temple. It looks like the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

OBI WAN(thick)
Was a... Temple. Once.
PADMEIf we don’t manage to tell the Republic that we crashed here they’ll think the Separatist Senators killed or kidnapped us.
AHSOKALet’s head for the big ruin over there. Maybe there is something inside we can use as a transmitter.
Obi Wan nods. They all turn and walk off towards the temple.
EXT. PLANET KATARR WASTELANDS - DAY
Ahsoka, Padme and Obi Wan trudge across the landscape. Both Padme and Ahsoka help Obi Wan as he walks.
A moment later the ground starts to shake under her.
PADMEWhat’s that?
AHSOKAAn earthquake?
About ten meters away the ground erupts in a shower of purple stone and dust with something coalescing out of shadow as it rises from beneath the surface.
A creature as large as a house, leathery brown hide, long spikes and a huge fanged jaw snarls at her, saliva spattering on the ground.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)That’s...
The dragon lashes its tail at her and she dodges out of the way. Dust and shards of broken rock fly in every direction from the impact. The dragon roars, the bestial cry echoing across the landscape.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)A krayt dragon!
END ACT 1
9.
ACT 2
EXT. PLANET KATARR WASTELANDS - DAY
The dragon ROARS, shaking the landscape. It lumbers forward, jaws open and molten salvia spattering down onto the rock.
PADMEAhsoka! I’m going to protect Obi Wan! You distract it until we find a way to finish it!
Padme helps Obi Wan get behind a rock. As she helps him she pulls out a blaster and fires off a few shots at the dragon. They ricochet off its hide.
Ahsoka uses Force Pull to yank a rock and smash it against the dragon’s head. It doesn’t flinch, and darts after her.
AHSOKAYou’ve got to be kidding me!
Ahsoka flips away from the dragon’s jaws as they snap over the space she had been. She stabs at it as it lumbers past, her blade leaving a long glowing mark on its flank.
She glances up at its head.
PADME(yelling)
Ahsoka! On its neck, behind the head!
She can see a patch at the back of neck not protected by thick leathery hide.
AHSOKAThere! Now... how to get up there.
The dragon wheels around and charges at her, fangs gleaming. Ahsoka dodges out of the way as the dragon claws at her.
Ahsoka ducks behind the large rock, out of sight for a moment. The dragon roars again and searches for her, smashing rocks and boulders with abandon.
Obi Wan grabs Padme and leaps out of the way. As he lands, he staggers and holds his head, falling to one knee. Padme helps him to his feet.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)It’s too big... fast too. How will I get up on its back?
10.
The dragon rampages around smashing rocks and debris with its tail. A moment later she places a hand on her head dress.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)I’ll need to use its speed and strength...
Ahsoka leaps out from behind the rock and starts running across the ground.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)(shouting)
HEY! UGLY! OVER HERE!
The dragon lumbers around and sees her running. It lets loose another bellow and charges at her. Ahsoka spins on her heel and dashes, her lightsaber out in front of her.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)Here goes nothing!
As she charges the beast it lowers its jaws, exposing rows of teeth. At the last possible second Ahsoka drops into a slide and careens underneath the dragon.
She grabs the end of its tail and pulls herself up on one of the great spines.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)Got you!
The dragon roars in anger and begins to spin in circles trying to shake her off. Ahsoka climbs up the spines on the dragon’s back, holding on for dear life.
The dragon tries to smash itself into a large outcropping of rocks but she leaps up a bunch of the spines, avoiding the splinters of rock.
Ahsoka gets up to the top of the dragon’s back while it spins around in circles. She climbs up onto the last of the spines right before the big fleshy weak spot at the nape of its neck.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)Ok! Just need to...
Ahsoka raises her lightsaber, ignites it, and stabs the blade down into the soft fleshy spot. The dragon lets loose a gasping roar and collapses in a heap. Ahsoka vaults off the dragon landing near Padme and Obi Wan.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)Master? Are you all right?

OBI WANI’m fi--
PADMENo, you’re not. I told him to stay sitting down.
Obi Wan turns his head and she can see blood running down from a gash on the side of his head. There is a burn mark under his robes he had hidden before.
PADME (CONT’D)I’d expect this sort of behavior out of Anakin, not you.
AHSOKALet’s get to that building as soon as we can.
Ahsoka turns to the fallen dragon and bows her head.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)I’m sorry I had to kill you.
There is a loud THRA-KOOM and lightning roars down a few feet from them. Rain begins to fall, a light patter on the ground. Obi Wan looks up.
OBI WAN(pained)
Storm coming. We need shelter.
Ahsoka looks at him. He raises a hand and points at a small building a distance off. It’s on the way to the main Temple, but much smaller.
OBI WAN (CONT’D)There.
AHSOKARight, Master.
Padme grabs one of Obi Wan’s arms and Ahsoka the other. They begin to walk off.
Behind them there is a swirling blue lights near the dragon. A humanoid shape rises from it, coalescing into a figure dressed in black robes.
12.
INT. PLANET KATARR SMALL TEMPLE - DAY
Ahsoka, Obi Wan and Padme huddle in a small temple. In the center of the room a pedestal rises up to about shoulder height. The room is not very large and full of debris.
Outside the storm rages, purple lightning lashes the ground.
Obi Wan is leaning against a wall, his cloak pulled around him. Ahsoka and Padme sit next to each other near him. Ahsoka is watching the door.
AHSOKAMaster, you called this planet Katarr?
OBI WANYes. It’s a planet where no one is supposed to go.
AHSOKAWhy?
OBI WANDuring the Old Republic a Sith Lord killed every living thing here. It scarred the planet, and The Force here, permanently.
AHSOKAOh.
She looks at the walls.
PADMEWasn’t there a Jedi Temple here?
OBI WANYes. Once.
He coughs. Ahsoka stands up and looks around. She nudges over some debris. She looks puzzles, reaches down and picks up something. A HOLOCRON.
AHSOKAMaster, look at this.
She walks over and gives it to him. He looks at it for a few moments.
OBI WANA holocron. An old one.
Padme comes over and looks at it.
13.
PADMEI think that pedestal is an old holocron reader.
She puts out her hand and Ashoka gives her the holocron. Padme walks over and puts the holocron on the reader. Nothing happens.
AHSOKAMaybe it’s broke--
WHOOSH! Sound and lights begin to emit from the cube. A small figure appears over the cube. An old man, wearing a brown Jedi Robe and with a cane. It’s the same Master from came from the Dragon.
MASTER DORAK(staticy)
Repeat, any ships in the vicinity of Katarr, retreat at once. DarthNihilus is in orbit and is charging some sort of weapon.
(beat)Stay away from Katarr. Help the Exile. Help Atris. Help...
The image above the cube dissolves into light.
MASTER DORAK (CONT’D)(panicked high pitched scream)
Silence. The cube continues to spin. Moments later giant black shapes appear on the walls of the temple.
A great figure, cloaked in black with a white mask appears hovering over a planet. A great many small figures dot the planet’s side. The black cloaked figure points at the planet and a bolt of lightning shoots from his hands and all the small forms fall over. The entire planet becomes bare, then some of the forms rise again, small hovering, phantasmal shapes.
A great figure wielding a lightsaber stands there. He swipes at shadowy figures and they fall around him. He roars in triumph, and the shadows around him rise, becoming horns, and tendrils of black.
The Holocron goes dark. The only sound is the lightning crashing outside.
AHSOKAWhat was that?

OBI WANThe Fall of Katarr.
Ahsoka turns to look at him.
PADMEThat temple is our only hope.
AHSOKAIf this technology still works there must be something there.
Obi Wan nods, sleepily. He leans against the wall and closes his eyes.
OBI WAN(faintly)
Rest. Once the storm passes we’ll go to the temple.
Ahsoka nods.
AHSOKAI’ll keep watch. Padme, you rest as well.
Padme nods and pulls a blanket out of her backpack. She curls up. Ahsoka watches them and stands, staring out of the archway of the building and at the raging storm.
EXT. RUINED JEDI TEMPLE - DAY
Ahsoka and Padme help Obi Wan up the steps of the temple. He stumbles and nearly falls a couple times. They walk further into the temple.
There is a loud CRASH and one of the columns falls over creating a huge cloud of dust. Ahsoka and Padme start coughing and Obi Wan slumps to the ground.
THE GHOST OF DARTH NIHILUS stands there, at the top of the steps. Ahsoka, Padme and Obi Wan Stop when they see him.
AHSOKAWho are--
Obi Wan’s eyes widen in shock. He stumbles and pulls out his lightsaber.
OBI WANAhsoka! Protect Padme! He’s a Sith!
15.
The Ghost ducks behind a column in a flash. Obi Wan spins around looking for the Ghost. He staggers and drops to one knee.
The Ghost rears up out of the dust cloud right behind Padme. Padme spins, sensing him and draws her blaster. The Ghost waves a hand and her blaster flies away, breaking apart against the wall.
AHSOKAPadme! Run!
Padme turns to run but the Ghost wraps a black cloaked arm around her waist. With a flourish, he picks her up and vanishes backwards, melting into the cloud.
PADME(fading)
Ahsoka!
Her voice echoes off the crumbling remains of the temple. The dust cloud begins to settle. A few moments later it is gone, leaving emptiness where Padme had been.
Obi Wan coughs as the dust settles and his eyes open, painfully. He looks around, his eyes heavy lidded with pain.
OBI WANAhsoka? What happened? Where is Padme?
He coughs again. Ahsoka kneels next to him, looking around with a panicked expression.
AHSOKAI didn’t know what to do, Master. He... I’ve never felt someone that strong with the Dark Side. Not Ventress, not Dooku.
OBI WANLeave me, Ahsoka. Continue the mission, find Padme. You need to get off this planet.
AHSOKAI can’t leave you, Master. You’ll die.
OBI WANAhsoka! You need to pay attention to the mission.
16.
(MORE)
It is more important to get Padme to that meeting. If she doesn’t make it millions of lives will be lost.
Ahsoka looks at him, down the hallway, and back at Obi Wan. She sets her jaw stubbornly.
AHSOKAI’m not leaving you, Master!
OBI WANI’m giving you a direct--
AHSOKANo. Master Skywalker taught me never to leave anyone behind.
Obi Wan lets out a long sigh.
OBI WANFine. Help me up. Let’s go.
INT. RUINED JEDI TEMPLE - DAY
Ahsoka and Obi Wan walk through the Temple. Obi Wan looks a little better now, and Ahsoka has her lightsaber out for a source of light. It casts eerie blue and green shadows.
Ahsoka looks down and notices a bunch of cylinders spread around on the floor. It takes a moment, but she realizes they are old lightsabers.
AHSOKAMaster, look.
OBI WANLightsabers. Those are very old, at least a few thousand years.
Obi Wan turns to say something when a loud SCREAM echoes from down the hallway. Obi Wan snaps out his lightsaber and, after a moment’s pause to look at each other, they charge down the hallway.
INT. RUINED JEDI TEMPLE CENTRAL ANTECHAMBER - DAY
Ahsoka and Obi Wan run into the central antechamber of the Temple. In the center of the room stands the Ghost of Nihilus holding a struggling Padme to his chest.

OBI WAN (CONT'D)
He holds a red lightsaber in his other hand bathing the room in an eerie red glow.
AHSOKALet her go!
Silence. He stands there, unmoving. He moves the saber up to Padme’s throat, and her eyes widen in terror. She struggles some more and tries to escape, but the figure holds her in an iron grip.
He tilts his head at Ahsoka and rears back with his free hand. With a sudden jerk of motion, he stabs Padme right through the back. She arches as the saber passes through her body. She slumps and he lets her fall to the ground.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)PADME! NO!
END ACT 2
18.
ACT 3
INT. RUINED JEDI TEMPLE LEFT ANTECHAMBER - DAY
Padme’s body slumps to the ground as the Ghost of Nihulsdraws his lightsaber from her body.
He takes a step back as Ahsoka runs up and drops to her knees next to Padme.
Ahsoka cradles Padme’s body, tears streaming down her face.
AHSOKANo... Padme. No. Please... no.
As Ahsoka kneels next to Padmes body Obi Wan charges past her raising his lightsaber. The Ghost raises his in an salute and meets his rush with a loud HISS as the two sabers clash against each other.
The two of them exchange a flurry of blows, Obi Wan doing his best to get in under the Ghost’s guard, but Obi Wan’s injury is holding him back. He is breathing hard and the blood is flowing down his face again.
The Ghost leans back and kicks Obi Wan in the chest. He staggers back and grunts, the breath expelled from his lungs. He collapses on the ground trying to catch his breath.
Ahsoka leaps to her feet and holds her saber in front of her for a second before CHARGING at the Ghost at top speed.
She crashes into the Ghost like a tidal wave against a breakwater, smashing down on his saber over and over, screaming incoherently.
The Ghost steps back, holding his saber up in a defensive position. Ahsoka continues to push him further back, slamming her blade against his with a complete lack of finesse or style.
OBI WAN(breathless)
Ahsoka... be careful.
The Ghost raises a hand and flexes, and a wave of Force Energy slams into Ahsoka, sending her flying back across the room. She bounces against a rock and staggers.
Before she can recover Obi Wan is standing there next to her. He flexes his hand a wave of Force Energy slams into the Ghost, driving him back and through a wall opposite them. He tumbles into the next room.
19.
Ahsoka goes to charge after The Ghost but Obi Wan puts a restraining hand up in front of her.
OBI WAN (CONT’D)Check on Padme.
Ahsoka walks back to Padme’s body and drops to her knees next to it. She lets out a hollow sob, buries her face onto Padme's torso, and starts to cry.
Padme COUGHS and Ahsoka jerks up. Padme curls around the wound in her shoulder and lets loose little pained gasps.
AHSOKAPadme! Padme! Say something!
Obi Wan rushes over and sits next to her. He puts his hands over her wound, closes his eyes and concentrates.
OBI WANThe wound is very serious. She needs medical attention.
AHSOKASo do you, Master.
He looks at her and smiles. Blood traces down his cheek.
OBI WANLet’s find that transmitter.I’ll carry her.
AHSOKAMaster, let me--
OBI WANNo, Ahsoka. You need to watch out in case that Sith comes back.
Padme lets loose a little cry of pain as Obi Wan leans down and picks her up. She curls up against him.
PADME(whispered)
Anakin... please.
OBI WANLet’s go.

INT. RUINED JEDI TEMPLE MAIN CHAMBER - DAY
Ahsoka and Obi Wan limp into the main hall of the Temple. He gently places Padme down in the corner. She gasps in pain as he does.
Standing in the center of the room is the Ghost of Nihilus. He is holding his red lightsaber in front of his face, waiting. All around him are spread old cylinders of lightsabers and a large table in the center of the room is cracked in half.
Ahsoka sees him and her face tightens into a mask of hatred.
OBI WANAhsoka! Control your...
She ignites her lightsaber and lightly runs across the room towards him. He extends his lightsaber and patiently waits for her. Obi Wan follows her, breathing heavily.
Her blade meets his and both of them CRACKLE, sparks flying off in every direction. Their faces press inches apart from each other, his white and red mask against hers, clenched with concentration.
A moment later they break apart, each leaping to opposite ends of the room.
The figure uses Force Pull to rip up a chunk of rock from the ground. He flings it at her, and Ahsoka uses her blade to slice it in half. The two pieces of rock tumble to the ground behind her, grinding to dust on the floor.
Obi Wan leaps past her and engages the Ghost. Ahsoka attacks from his other side, and the figure elegantly deflects both their attacks, sparks and crackles flying off in all directions.
AHSOKAMaster, you’re hurt! Let me!
OBI WANNo, Ahsoka. He is too...
Obi Wan dodges a thrust aimed at his head. He parries another blow aimed at his chest.

The Ghost leaps into the air and kicks Obi Wan upside the chin. Obi Wan staggers back holding his head. He looks dazed.
Ahsoka lets loose a snarl of rage and charges him slamming her lightsaber against his. She only gets one blow in before, using Force Push, he slams her against the opposing wall.
The Ghost charges Obi Wan who can only put up a feeble defense. After a few thrusts he STABS Obi Wan through the chest.
OBI WAN (CONT’D)Oh.
Obi Wan falls to the ground, smoke rising from the hole.
AHSOKANo. No! NOOOOOOOO!
She runs at him and slashes when she gets close. He leans out of the way and parries her attacks. They exchange blows back and forth with neither getting the upper hand on the other.
They continue all over the room, with him Pushing her back occasionally and her charging back into combat.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)I’m going to END you.
After one last exchange Ahsoka leaps back from him. She has scratches all over her face from the last hit into the wall and she is breathing hard.
The Ghost stands still and stares at her. He doesn’t seem to need to breathe.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)Think you’re... tough, huh? Master could... take you in a second.
Ahsoka smiles as he charges at her, and she leaps up and charges at him. At the last second she drops into a slide intending to take him off at the knees... but he leaps into the air and lands on a pillar across the room.
The figure takes a step back and then sweeps at her leg. Ahsoka ducks out of the way and tries to put a hand down to brace herself, but her wounded arm gives way.
She collapses to the ground. The Ghost stands over her, pointing his blade at her face.

She scuttles away from it until her back hits a pillar. The Ghost remorselessly walks towards her, always keeping the blade about a foot from her face. She raises her saber to try to deflect his blade, but he just slaps it aside. Her lightsaber clatters to the floor a few feet away.
The Ghost raises his hand, preparing the blade to strike. Ahsoka looks behind him and sees a big chunk of rock lying on its side.
The figure begins his strike. Ahsoka raises a hand, and with a rumble of rocks and crack of stone the rock breaks free and flies across the room.
The rock connects with the Ghost and he stumbles, his strike going wide.
The Ghost staggers backwards and stands next to Padme. He looks at Ahsoka and raises his lightsaber, aimed at Padme.
Ahsoka takes the moment to Force Pull her lightsaber, push herself to her feet with her legs and charge the Ghost.
The Ghost sweeps his lightsaber down at Padme. Right before he can strike Ahsoka gets within range and, with a wide arcing strike, DECAPITATES the Ghost.
The Ghost collapses and the head rolls to her feet. The mask has come askew. Ahsoka reaches out with a foot and pushes the mask off the face.
Underneath, staring up with glassy, sightless eyes is ANAKIN’S FACE. Ahsoka recoils in horror and screams.
From the body of the Ghost a group of incandescent blue motes rises, coalescing into the form of a woman. She wears a white Jedi Robes and her white hair is done up in an ornate fashion on top of her head.
ATRISWell fought, Padawan.
AHSOKAYou? You were that... thing?
ATRISYes. I am the monster.
(beat)I am Atris, Ahsoka. I am responsible for what happened to Katarr.

AHSOKABut... but...Padme. Obi Wan. You KILLED them. Why?
ATRISI stood against Darth Nihilus. It was my fault he knew of this gathering, this conclave of Jedi. I believed we could rise as one to fight him, and defeat him.
(beat)I was wrong. He killed them all. I was left alive to see what I had caused. The worst punishment one could have.
AHSOKAI don’t CARE what you did then. You killed my friends! If I... if I could kill you again, I would!
ATRISRise, Master Obi-Wan. The Trial is over.
Obi Wan sits up in the corner, wincing. He holds his side and looks pained. Ahsoka’s eyes widen and she sees him.
AHSOKAMaster?
There is a faint cough, and Ahsoka turns around. Padme stands there at the entrance at her feet.
AHSOKA (CONT’D)PADME!
Ahsoka runs across the room and hugs Padme who returns the gesture.
ATRISPadawan.
Ahsoka brushes tears from her eyes and turns. Atris is standing in the center of the room next to Obi Wan. The body of the Ghost is still in the middle of the floor.
ATRIS (CONT’D)I ignored my mission, and millions died for it. The individual, before the many. You may not agree with your Masters, but they have learned, through fire and war, the importance of a unified Jedi Order.

(MORE)
(beat)Trust me, Ahsoka. You do not wish to be the cause of something like this.
She waves her hands around. Her eyes are haunted.
AHSOKAWhat... what happened here?
OBI WANYou just took the Trial of the Jedi, Ahsoka. The Trial to determine if a padawan is ready for Knighthood.
Ahsoka gasps. She stares around the room.
AHSOKAThis was... a test?
PADMEYes.
Ahsoka sits on the ground, a stunned look on her face. Padme sits next to her and hugs her again.
She looks over at the fallen body of the Ghost.
AHSOKAIs that... did I...
PADMENo, Ahsoka. Like the dragon, that was created by the Masters of this place.
Padme looks over and sees Anakin’s face. She shudders.
Atris comes and sits in front of her.
AHSOKADid I... pass?
ATRISWe tested your might, and you passed. You defeated an enemy many times your size by using it’s own strength against it.
(beat)We tested your spirit and your dedication, and you passed.
(beat)

ATRIS (CONT’D)
(MORE)
But, Ahsoka, we tested your devotion, and you placed the needs of one against the needs of the many. You should have left Master Obi Wan behind.
Ahsoka nods. She understands.
AHSOKAI’m sorry, Master.
ATRISThe Trials are difficult, and many do not do as well as you did the first time.
She stands up and begins to fade away.
ATRIS (CONT’D)You have great potential, and one day you will become one of the greatest of Jedi Masters. Remember our lessons, Ahsoka. Beware the Dark Side. It HAS marked you.
She fades away. Ahsoka looks up at Obi Wan. He offers her a hand which she takes.
OBI WANLet’s go. There is a ship waiting to take us back to Coruscant.
Padme, Obi Wan and Ahsoka turn to walk out of the room. Ahsoka looks back at the body of the Ghost still on the floor. The open mask, with Anakin’s face, stares at her impassively with open eyes.

ATRIS (CONT'D)
TAG
EXT. JEDI TEMPLE LANDING PAD - DAY
The landing craft touches down on the landing pad. A moment later the ramp lowers and Ahsoka, Obi Wan and Padme walk out. Anakin is waiting for them on the pad. He looks relieved to see them.
When Ahsoka sees Anakin she runs over and hugs him, crying.
Anakin realizes Ahsoka is crying holds her, looking a bit awkward.
ANAKINThat bad?
Padme walks over and nods at Anakin. He smiles softly at her.
AHSOKAIt was horrible Master. Why do the Jedi test people like that.
OBI WANBeing a Jedi isn’t fun, or a game. You need to be willing to sacrifice everything. We are guardians of an entire Galaxy. We need to know you’re up to the challenge.
AHSOKAI knew it wasn’t real but... until I saw you I wasn’t sure.
Anakin breaks off the hug.

ANAKINIt’s OK. We’re here.
AHSOKAI failed, Master. I’m sorry if I disappointed you.
ANAKINYou didn’t disappoint me, Ahsoka. The trials are dangerous, and difficult. It is uncommon for someone to pass them the first time.
AHSOKAYou did.
ANAKINYes, well. I’m special.
He laughs, quietly.
OBI WANWe’ll help you get ready next time. They’re never the same, but we can at least make sure you’re better prepared.
AHSOKANot for a long time. I don’t think I could go through that again anytime soon.
Obi Wan nods. He understands.
ANAKINNext time, Ahsoka. I’m glad you didn’t pass. I would have missed you by my side.
Ahsoka smiles at him. He puts an arm on her shoulders and gives her a one armed hug.
She gives a half hearted smile before a look of concern and weariness crosses her features.
FADE OUT.
