ARCHICAD STAR EDITION 2018 can read files created with: STAR EDITION 2006 and newer versions, ARCHICAD 8.1 and 9

3D STYLES ARCHICAD STAR EDITION 2018's new 3D Styles allow you to save 3D window settings and include them in your views. Changes to 3D Styles will automatically be applied to any views that use them.

BUILDING MATERIALS AND CUSTOM PROFILES TO GDL ELEMENTS

ARCHICAD STAR EDITION 2018's Building Material and Profile attributes now can be used in the GDL elements. So, in those library parts where these parameters are available, users can assign Building Material and/or Profile attributes instead of just a combination of Surfaces, Fills and pre-defined geometry. Also, Building Material quantities or used Profile types can be labeled and scheduled from such library parts.

ELEMENT CLASSIFICATION MANAGEMENT

ARCHICAD STAR EDITION 2018 introduces a flexible way to classify elements and spaces for better support of national or company standards and for unprecedented interoperability between project stakeholders (via IFC). Classifications for construction elements or zones can be handled in a centralized way within the scope of the project using the new Classification Manager function.

STAIR TOOL Designing stairs is one of the most complex tasks in architecture. ARCHICAD STAR EDITION 2018’s new Stair Tool evaluates thousands of design options and offers the most optimal stair designs to choose from in the context of the specific building. By doing the heavy lifting in the background — making sure the stair complies with global and local design standards — this tool turns what is usually a painful task into something fun.

RAILING TOOL ARCHICAD STAR EDITION 2018’s new Railing Tool can be used to create complex, associative railings for Stairs, Slabs, Walls, Roofs or Meshes. The configurable Railing Pattern Editor offers unique railing patterns specific to each design project. Railings can be created with a single click based on pre-defined rules and standards.
