THE WEEK AHEAD

In Our Parish

May 5, 2019– 3rd Sunday of Easter

We see in the Gospel today how

unconditional are the Lord’s forgiveness and

compassion.

Forgiveness is not weakness, it is strength.

It is not lacking courage, but embracing courage

by letting go. It is never placing yourself back in

an abusive relationship. It is not excusing the

hurtful behavior. It is doing what Jesus did, is

doing and will always do when faced with

betrayal, and other hurtful things.

We know that forgiving those who have hurt us badly is practically an “inhuman” task. Only God can help us to forgive. Therefore, we must ask God for the strength and grace of the Holy Spirit through prayer. Let us keep on loving as Jesus did. Amen.

SPONSOR OF THE WEEK

Thanks to Vantage Consulting Group, for sponsoring our bulletin this weekend.

2019 Annual Diocesan Appeal –

Building Our Family of Faith

Over the past couple of months, many of our parishioners have

contributed their support to the 2019 Annual Diocesan Appeal.

To date, we have raised $40,398.00 on a target of $45,870.00

putting us at 88% of our target. If you have already made your

2019 Appeal gift, please accept our gratitude for your

commitment.

If you are praying about your decision, we ask you to think about

the ways the Appeal is making an impact right now in our

Catholic Church. For instance, did you know –

This year the Appeal, for the first time, is providing funding

to Saint Francis Home which is a ministry serving seniors and

disabled adults who have little or no means of income.

The cost to educate one seminarian is approximately $50,000

per year which includes room & board, tuition and health

insurance. A significant portion of this cost is funded by the

Annual Appeal.

The Appeal is helping to move evangelization forward across our Diocese by providing training, materials and resources.

If you have not had the opportunity to contribute, please pick up a pledge envelope from our parish office. You can also donate securely online, as well as learn more about the ministries the Appeal supports, by visiting richmondcatholicfoundation.org/giving/annual-appeal/.
