DESCRIPTION

This is the initial Pitch for our groups view on what Star Clash will be and contain. This was written by James Lester & Samuel Fenton. Steven Barber helped verbally to create these documents. To write this Sam made sure to write all of his pieces very short and sharp so that the reader can skim through the document and understand all of our basic ideas. I however went slightly overboard when it came to writing my paragraphs and exceeded the words limit that I set myself and what Sam set me. James Lester, Sam Fenton and Steven Barber

Star ClashStar Clash is a futuristic Battle Arena game where different species of aliens; coming

from a vast number of galaxies fight to the death and to see who the greatest and the strongest race is out of all of the universe.

The game will have a series of different levels and characters that the player can use, each having their own unique style. These characters use different fighting styles. These different fighting styles are portrayed through the detailed animations that will be created. Next the different environments may affect the gameplay, meaning that depending where the characters are located inside of the graphic environment will affect gameplay in different ways. One example could be that if the selected level is in “Space” the gravity will react differently against the characters. Secondly using the “Space” example again the lighting will be different dew to a large sum of the light will be emitted by stars or suns etc. this in turn will create quite intense light that will create a large sum of lens flare against the camera.

What it’s similar to?The characters that we will be using in our game will be unique but may have some

aspects that are similar to characters that are from other franchises. These influences will not be just from arena fighting games like Tekken, Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros. In the production we have also been getting ideas for our characters from Sci-Fi films.

Our influences span from many different media productions. When looking for influences we did not focus on one creative media. We were even also looking into Greek mythology and other myths throughout history. Some examples have been the great story about the Minotaur.

Character Synopsis1. Xia’rue (shay -ru), is part of the Keix’ahr (Keks-are) race from a planet much like our

own called "Origin". This planet is filled with blossom trees and is much like 10th century Japan. The world is filled with mountains and beautiful landscapes that the creatures of the planet live and hide in. The occupants of this planet are overly evolved "Red Pandas" and other creatures. Their IQ are very high and are skilled fighters. Their land has been taken over by a virus known as "The Purge". One "Alien", Xia’rue would then be forced to go find the cure for this disease on Earth.

2. Kyle - Kyle is from a raise known as the "Chums". This raise lives on a giant planet of "goop" and "sludge". Each individual is made up from a ball of materials from the planet. At the core of this planet there is a large sum of Acid, as each baby is made from the materials the planet grows smaller and the surface then becomes more acidic. The only way to prevent this is by adding materials such as "Iron, copper, etc." to the worlds surface. This is where "Kyle the Chum" must travel to Earth to get the materials required to fix his planet.

3. Orchid, orchid is from a raise of overly developed aliens called the Azazyu. His raise is much like the very stereotypical alien, E.T. Orchid wears a large line of Ammo across his shoulder to his waist line as he is from the Military. The Azazyu travels from

planet to planet stealing resources to survive. As he reaches a planet by Earth he is forced to fight this raise of aliens who are very similar to Orchids raise. In battle Orchid is separated from his platoon and crash lands on Earth. Where his battle to survive will begin.

Think about RatingBefore thinking about the publishing stage of our game we need to think about the process

of the PEGI system. When creating a game the developers of said game must always keep the PEGI system in mind. We have already been given a brief of around about which target audience we will need to focus our characters and backdrop etc. around the audience that enjoys and religiously play Super Smash Bros. The target audience for this game is Teens but I feel that we should make sure that the character we create is a character that can be relatable to players who are slightly younger than teens for example ages 7+.

Dew to our game being aimed at this target audience we have to make sure that the PEGI system does not pick up any features that may increase the age rating to higher than a rating of Teen. This means that the game will contain Cartoon Violence and other cartoon features. The game however although being a Battle Arena Game there must not be any blood or gore at all as this will raise the age rating to something quite a lot higher. Also there must not be anything that represents Drug or Alcohol abuse etc. as yet again this will not be suitable in the game at all but will also raise the age rating to something that the development and publishing team will not want.

Target AudienceOur desired target audience would be for families aged 7+ as we want to be able to

have a wide range for our market meaning this will help with having high numbers in sales meaning more profit. With the content that we have in our game this would most likely appeal to males ages 7-15 as it has the concept of Sci-fi; however older gamers may be appealed by Star Clash as it is a competitive game that could be played with family and friends on the same console or with friends online.

Who would most likely buy it?We are hoping the all ages would buy this game to play with their family and friends

however it may be young children and teens that will buy Star Clash so that they are able to play with their friends when they’re over rather than playing with their families. And coming aside from ages and more to gender, it would most likely to be males buying our game as the majority of girls wouldn’t really play fighting games with aliens.

Game ConsolesDue to the constraints of our budget and time, Star Clash™ will only be available on

PC as of course we would need to do our programming on PC and would cost more to put our game on consoles like Xbox One/360 and PlayStation 3 &4 however in the future for other games or a future update for this game.
