Standstill- Draft two

Yesterday was weird. London, the city that never sleeps, slept. I went out to meet a few friends last night and the tubes were empty. Completely empty, and so were the streets. Weird.

In all my life I have never encountered London to look so dead. It was quite nice in a way as I began to notice things I had never noticed before. Have you noticed how many pods the London Eye has? 32. I have lived here for 19 years, born and raised but only just realized this last night. Its funny. So many people miss the little things in life because theyre to busy looking at the big things. This may not be the correct contrast but you know what I mean.

Another thing I noticed was how long it takes for London Bridges crossing to go down again. I was sitting on a wall near the London Eye staring at how calm the Thames was when the bridge began to descend. I counted. 1,2,31 minute 36, 1 minute 374 minutes 527 minutes 14. It was so chilled just watching. But what I dont understand is why the bridge was up to begin with. There were no boats. No people. No atmosphere.

I had time to think last night, about my parents. I dont know how to tell them I dont like the course Im doing at Uni. They always tell me how proud they are of me for doing business and maths but I dont want to do it anymore. My dad is sorting out a job for me right now for when I finish my education. I finish my education in three weeks. Well, two weeks six days twenty three hours and 57 seconds. The way London was last night it described how I felt. I wish time would slow down.

Come to think of it, there was nothing last night. It was like the whole city was standstill, like there was no time.

Oh, my watch is broken.
