Stand By 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Sunken Meadow State Park
Schools, families, businesses and local organizations will have a unique opportunity to demonstrate and be recognized for their commitment to child safety and bully prevention. Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) is Long Island's leading nonprofit dedicated to preventing bullying, child abuse and neglect among school-age children. By working together, we can keep every child safe from harm. Proceeds for the walk/run will support the CAPS Bully Prevention Center: • In-classroom workshops for grades 2-12 that reach
an average 40,000 students each year • Bully Helpline that connects concerned parents and
children with a CAPS expert for advice and solutions • Parent programs that bring awareness to the
challenges elementary and middle school children face, and how their parents can help them
• Professional development training for educators and school professionals that help sharpen their skills
A Corporate Sponsorship not only benefits CAPS and the work we do every day, it also provides your organization with a chance to distinguish itself before, during, and after the event by: • Exposing your services to potential clients through
media, campaign, and print marketing • Associating your company with bully prevention—a
hot topic that is a concern on Long Island, and continues to receive local and national media attention
• Giving back to the community in a positive and meaningful way
