It allows us to carry heavy weight in rough situations. I honestly believe no

weapon formed against me shall prosper. It helps to know that there not more

put on me then I can bear. Some people can't handle struggle and those that

can take on trouble and problems are called for a good work.

Having strength in advocating is needed to except the nay Sayers and what

they throw on the table. Without strength it is impossible to pursue a mission

that is meant for you to complete. We need to stop praying for something that

is in our reach. Strength was given to us; we just need to learn how to use it. #

pulls out strength and practice its powers

It always feels good to know that someone understands your circumstances. In

hard times those people in your life that help you through are the people you

should position yourself around. This world is lacking a major amount of sup-

port and the very people who needed support at some time in their life, should

understand the most.

Sharing occasional moment with special people in your life shows them that

you care. Many people feel like they have no one to spend time with or talk

very few people who they can hold clear conversations with about issues and

problems that occur. Now a day’s it’s hard to keep your personal information

from reaching every person you know. Therapists are making pounds of cash

just to be the ear of one in need of outside advice.

If we learn to give our time and ear to those in need while keeping their life

from out of the spotlight, we can develop trust in our relationships. Trust is

something that time creates. I can't trust anyone I don't know on a personal lev-

el. To stand for something you need to be able to give your time to the cause.

Free or paid you find time to be there. We all have time to give back to our

You will be faced with people who are totally against you, does that mean fight

back? You know it bothers me when people who are anti- fur gets into argu-

ments with someone for wearing fur. That's their choice you just don’t have to

wear it or look at them wearing it. Just be respectful of the fact that they like it.

Being judgmental is wrong to do and if you are a Christian it’s sin. Having tol-

erance for disrespect is a must. It’s a huge guarantee you'll experience this in

the long run weather it’s someone on your team or not. Expect the things you

don’t want to experience and it won't affect your outlook and your behavior.

If you’re just talking about what you’re going to do without the act of doing it,

you’re just saying words. Many of us have the mind to give back or support

those in crisis, but

56

we never get to that point of making it happen. We have in our minds a plan

of action, but life makes troubles and there is always something getting in the

way. Laziness is a major existence as well. I don't feel like it, or allowing those

who took advantage of your support take the assistance from other truly in

need. Please do not allow bad experiences to hinder you from taking action.

I do believe that acting on the things you were sent here to do help us get clos-

er to fulfilling our purpose in life. We all have a purpose and we may not know

exactly what it is. Allow yourself to grow by showing that you can put yourself

aside and show love or support to charities or people who deserve to rise above

To be aware is to use your senses or your common sense to see, hear or feel

what is going on around you. Before you start to give your all to anyone or any

charity, doing research is a must. Lots of people take up for people and repre-

sent them according to what they feel like they believe. The worst thing can

happen when you realize later that those very same people stepped on your

toes and kept you in the dark away from the truth. It happens to everyone. In

life, People can be a user, that’s why I believe in having trust issues. Not trust-

ing right away, to me, is a natural thing to do. People see you and see vulnera-

bility and they will take you for granted.

I always pray before I start to give my energy to someone. It happens a lot in

the field of advocating for others, and it happens for a reason. It’s for us to rec-

ognize the patterns and deviousness. Being aware in that sense gives you reas-

surance in knowing how far to go for someone like these users. I've faced

many of them before and I know how to handle them now. Experience is all

Fighting for a cause involves a small portion of negotiation. Coming to terms

with the fact that others are involved and your minds may not be alike make a

difference in your role of supporting this cause. When you’re in need of the

opinions of your team mates and their option doesn't line up with yours it

could create conflicts. The only way for the conflict to not occur means for

someone to be wise in theier communication with other parties. I experienced

this sort of conflict and it got pretty ugly. Everyone that was involved or wit-

nessed the drama was distracted. Everyone should just swallow their pride and

compromise. To compromise is to set your own thoughts down to think com-

pletely about the other person’s feelings and thoughts, as if they were yours.

Our communities are breaking down bit by bit; it’s really hard to keep the vio-

lence out We all have encounters with young women who need a hand or

some sound advice. Having conversations about advocacy can help spread a

good virus. Helping a good cause is a great way to nurture someone—especially

our teens who are in trouble and having babies at young ages. Try showing

Everyone who is involved with giving back or supporting any specific cause has

felt determined at some time in their life. Determination is needed to complete

any task you set out to do. I was determined to write this article and as you’re

reading it now I'm completely confident that the next issue will be a success as

To be dedicated is to give of yourself completely for a cause that you totally

believe in. in order to complete the task it not only takes determination. A

flower cannot bloom without dedication. Every day it needs to be watered and

given sun light. Life needs dedication or else there wouldn't be any Martin Lu-

ther king Jr. Or Mother Teresa! They were dedicated activist who believed in

the love of our father.

We were given the spirit to love and care for others in situations. Using these

tools with the heart we were blessed with and knowing your purpose will al-

low you to help change the very world that we live in. One step at a time but

the entire time we will be standing together!
